Job description
ISO short- or long-term early-morning childcare in Castlegar (near Millennium Park) beginning July-August 2026 I’m a nurse working FT shift work in Trail (7am–7pm or 7pm–7am), requiring care 2–4 mornings/week. What we need: • Arrival: 5:45 am • Morning help: breakfast, getting ready for school, impromptu dance parties • Drop-off: Summer months (Kinnaird at 7:30 am). Winter/Spring (Castlegar Primary between 7:50 - 8:25 am). • Transportation: reliable vehicle and appropriate insurance About our kiddo: He’s 5, recently diagnosed with ADHD, and is a bright, creative, affectionate kid. He loves building everything, music/dancing, art, and being outdoors. Like many neurodivergent kids, he can become dysregulated when overtired or overwhelmed, so we’re looking for someone who is both playful and comfortable holding calm, clear boundaries. Who we’re hoping to find: Someone who is kind, patient, dependable, punctual, able to respond calmly and confidently to big feelings, and maintains open communication with us; ideally, with experience (or genuine comfort) supporting neurodivergent kids. Pay: Open to discussing what works best for you: hourly, per-morning rate, or a weekly retainer for guaranteed/on-call availability. Longer-term possibilities: We don’t have family nearby, and my spouse also works FT in Trail with unpredictable hours. There may be opportunities for after-school care, occasional date nights, or a more consistent nanny-style arrangement (open to discussion options and nanny-sharing).
