A “Grow Your Own” opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse who has an interest in a career within the Oncology Clinicbut does not possess the qualifications. Financial support will be available to the successful candidate with a return of service agreement.Preference through this opportunity will be given to candidates who have completed or are currently enrolled in the Provincial Standardized Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Course facilitated by the de Souza Institute.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Oncology Nurse will be involved in all aspects of the oncology and medical day care programincluding, but not limited to: patient/family assessment, administering & teaching chemotherapy/biotherapy,medical day care activities, providing supportive and palliative care, participation in thedevelopment &implementation of patient treatment plans, quality improvement processes, and facilitation of referralsand research activities.
