Job description

Saltworks Technologies is a leading Canadian cleantech company solving two of the world's most pressing challenges: water sustainability and critical minerals supply.

We design and build advanced industrial water treatment and lithium refining systems for global leaders in semiconductors, mining, automotive, and industrial processing.

Saltworks is a 2025 Technology Fast 50 company and EY Entrepreneur of the Year award winner.

We lead our industry in adopting and developing AI across our products, projects, and operations.

Join us and build skills defining the next era of engineering and industrial systems.

The role: Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Technical Project Manager (TPM) coordinates engineering activities across our advanced water treatment and lithium refining projects.

As the primary liaison between the Project Management Office (PMO) and our multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will ensure engineering deliverables are coordinated, integrated, and progressing according to project requirements from proposal through delivery.

Key responsibilities: Own the engineering execution plan, deliverables register, and milestone schedule, keeping them current and actionable throughout the project lifecycle.

Coordinate Process, Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls deliverables from proposal through detailed design, fabrication, construction, and system handover.

Serve as the primary engineering interface with the PMO, providing consolidated status updates, managing change requests, and maintaining stakeholder alignment.

Lead engineering stand-ups, milestone reviews, and multidisciplinary working sessions, tracking actions to completion.

Identify and resolve interface issues between disciplines before they impact project scope, schedule, or quality.

Continuously improve engineering workflows and execution practices to right-size effort and support business needs.

You will be a great fit if you have: A degree in Process, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Integrated Engineering, with P.Eng.

registration with EGBC or eligibility to register.

  • 7+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ years coordinating multi-discipline deliverables on capital or industrial process projects.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills — you write clearly, run effective meetings, and communicate proactively.

Technical judgment across disciplines — you can read drawings, identify risks, challenge estimates and sequencing, and step in to help unblock issues when a project needs it.

Proven ability to coordinate across complex projects with multiple stakeholders — you empower discipline leads, earn their trust, and build alignment across teams with competing priorities.

Active fluency with AI tools (Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) and a track record of applying them to real engineering or project work.

Bonus: Familiarity with Aras Innovator (PLM), AutoCAD Plant 3D, SolidWorks, EPLAN, Wrike, and Bluebeam.

Why join Saltworks?

At Saltworks, you'll collaborate with talented colleagues to solve complex, real-world problems – designing and delivering innovative water treatment and lithium refining systems for some of the world's most recognized companies.

Every team member contributes meaningfully, from early-stage development through field deployment.

Saltworks is investing intentionally in artificial intelligence for engineering and technical work.

Engineering offers one of the longest runways for AI-driven productivity and automation, and Saltworks aims to be at the forefront of this shift.

We provide the training, computational capacity, and practical tools needed for engineers and technical professionals to apply AI meaningfully in their work.

We offer: Competitive compensation package, including medical, dental, vision, RRSP matching, life insurance, AD&D coverage, and an education allowance.

Culture built on safety, innovation, diversity, and continuous learning.

Collaborative, cross-functional team environment where every member contributes to project outcomes.

Regular social activities and company events.

How to apply: If you would like to join the Saltworks team, please submit your resume (cover letters are not required).

While we sincerely appreciate all applications, only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.

All applications are considered confidential.

Kindly, no recruiters.

Salary : Negotiable based on your experience, qualifications, and alignment with comparable roles internally.
