POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the assigned supervisor, the Operations Training Developer is responsible for developing and overseeing the Operations training plan and materials and managing Learning Centre for both internal Operations staff and housing provider partners. He/she/they designs course material, training plans, training manuals and schedules, provides subject matter expertise, and supports identified internal trainers.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The successful candidate will have the following:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Completion of college diploma in instructional design, learning technology or other relevant field.
Considerable content development experience in a corporate environment including the design of IT related training programs utilizing a variety of delivery methods including eLearning, web-based technology, self-directed learning, classroom, and on-the-job training.
Considerable experience in designing multiple training courses and programs in a corporate setting.
Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the Employer.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Considerable knowledge and understanding of the philosophies, practices and processes related to adult learning theory and instructional design principles
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office at an advanced level
Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail
Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Superior oral and written communication, presentation, collaboration, facilitation and interpersonal skills
Ability to learn, understand, and apply BC Housing’s organizational structure, its programs and operating practices
Ability to effectively manage projects from start to finish and work with multiple stakeholders, internal and external
Ability to grasp technical issues and extract key concepts in a technical environment
Ability to communicate technical information to multiple audiences ranging in technical skill
Ability to adapt effectively to new technologies and remain active and current in the pursuit of knowledge relating to training techniques, technology and solutions
Ability to create and update training documentation
Ability to establish and maintain constructive and collaborative working relationships with all levels of staff, educational/training institutions, training and development consultants and service providers
Ability and a focused interest in remaining up-to-date with emerging training solutions, techniques and technology
Ability to travel periodically
