Job description

Joining Arup

Arup’s purpose, shared values, and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 80 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

We collaborate with public and private sector clients to unlock the transformative potential of railways. We offer a broad range of services spanning planning, design, delivery, systems integration, assurance, safety and security assessments, and optimization of railway operation and maintenance performance to unlock the financial value for investors, asset owners, operators and maintainers, while navigating the transition to low carbon and resilient rail. You would be joining our multidisciplinary team focusing on technical excellence and innovative solutions that shape a better future for people and the planet.

Join the PPCM team in Calgary as a Senior Project Manager, contributing to the continued growth of the Calgary office by supporting a diverse portfolio of projects and expanding our local presence, supporting the delivery of renewable energy and power projects while strengthening local pursuit capability, industry connectivity, and overall delivery performance.

This job posting represents an active vacancy within our organization and is open to immediate recruitment.

The opportunity

  • Lead day-to-day project management across scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, and stakeholder interfaces to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Establish and maintain robust project governance, including workplans, reporting frameworks, action/risk/issue tracking, and change control processes
  • Coordinate and integrate multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, efficient project outputs
  • Manage interfaces with contractors, EPCs, clients, consultants, and other stakeholders, fostering strong and collaborative working relationships throughout project delivery
  • Support business development activities for renewable energy pursuits, including strategy development, team coordination, and delivery planning, while maintaining industry connections from pursuit through execution
  • Contribute to strengthening the PPCM Calgary offering by enhancing delivery consistency, client relationships, and market presence

You will have the opportunity to do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

Is this role right for you?

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., engineering, construction management, project management, or similar)
  • 7+ years of experience delivering complex projects in consulting, engineering, or construction environments, with renewable energy or power sector experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating delivery across multiple stakeholders and interfaces
  • Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, including experience working directly with contractors and client representatives
  • Experience supporting or leading renewable energy and power projects

Preferred:

  • Experience working within contractor-led or alternative delivery environments (e.g., design-build or EPC models)
  • Professional project management certification (e.g., PMP) or progress toward accreditation
  • Strong data management, reporting, and project controls capability

Please note that all applicants must apply directly via the job portal.
