Site Manager - New York
Salary: $70-80,000
MUST HAVE CURRENT DAIRY EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION
This employer has a large dairy located in New York who is searching for a Site Manager with a stable work history for their operation. Candidates best suited for this role will have prior experience leading teams, several years of experience with animal wellness and treatment, an in-depth understanding of milk quality and have the desire to work with a progressive, family-owned company who looking to grow and develop its team members. The Site Manager will need to have a strong ability to work in a group setting with other employees and managers. They will also need to have strong communication skills in the format of, holding meetings, training personnel and re-training personnel,
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide daily direction to milkers, cow treatment team, maternity team, feeding team, reproduction team and outside crew.
- Backup key responsibilities as necessary to support team members’ days off
- Ensure supplies such as feed, vaccinations, and chemicals are stocked and ordered when necessary
- Utilize dairy management software to, interpret daily reports to set direction for each day; ensure daily tasks are kept up to date
- Oversee procedures in the milking parlor and ensure records are compliant with food safety regulations
- Work with veterinarian, nutritionist, and vendors routinely
- Represent the farm as a primary site contact, and projecting the Company’s values
MUST HAVE CURRENT DAIRY EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION
- Prior people manager/leadership experience
- Proficient in dairy management software
- Herd health experience:
- Management experience on a 1,000+ cow dairy
- Basic mechanical experience
