Construction Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support capital project execution at a food processing facility in Russell (Harrowby), MB, focused on equipment replacement within the canola processing area. This is a seconded, onsite role embedded with the plant team, working closely with the Plant Manager and an existing Construction Manager to manage contractor execution, safety, and schedule performance. There is potential for nightshift during heavy construction, so past experience working night shift would be an asset.

The scope of this work would include replacement and installation of canola processing equipment, including:

- Vessels

- Conveyors

- Extraction, distillation, and stripping equipment

- Equipment removal and installation (“hook-in”) activities

- Equipment commissioning support

- Brownfield industrial environment

MUST HAVES:

- 10+ years of Construction Manager experience in an industrial setting

- Past experience overseeing the installation of boilers and conveyors

- At least 4+ projects with past exp. overseeing 50+ trades people (through subs)

- Experience with scheduling (able to read a schedule and provide input back to the PM for the updates; flag where schedules could be at risk of being pushed/missed)

- Prior involvement in equipment replacement and commissioning scopes

NICE TO HAVES:

- Proven large trade crews during shutdowns or turnaround

- Experience in food processing, agricultural processing, or similar industrial facilities

- Prior involvement in equipment replacement or brownfield retrofit projects

- Either willingness or past experience working on a night shift

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Russell, MB.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100.00 - $125.00/hr.
