QE Lead – Payments
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a senior Quality Engineering leader to support its Payments portfolio. This role sits within a business vertical and is responsible for leading QE strategy and delivery across payments-focused initiatives.
The ideal candidate brings strong payments domain expertise combined with hands-on technical QE/automation experience. This is a leadership position positioned between a Senior Test Lead and Test Manager, requiring both strategic thinking and the ability to work closely with delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Quality Engineering strategy and delivery for payments initiatives.
- Develop comprehensive test strategies, plans, approaches and execution models.
- Partner closely with business, product, technology and delivery stakeholders.
- Provide QE leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead and coordinate QE resources across projects.
- Establish quality objectives, metrics and delivery standards.
- Identify testing risks, dependencies and gaps and develop mitigation strategies.
- Review test approaches and ensure appropriate coverage across functional and technical requirements.
- Provide technical guidance on automation and quality engineering practices.

Required Qualifications
- Significant Quality Engineering / QA leadership experience.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of the Payments domain.
- Experience with areas such as payments processing, FX, wires and related financial services systems.
- Strong understanding of test strategy, planning and delivery.
- Experience leading QE/testing teams in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of test automation and modern QE practices.
- Experience with technologies such as Java, Selenium, Rest Assured and/or similar automation frameworks.
- Experience with both UI and API testing is highly desirable.
- Ability to understand technical architecture and challenge/guide automation approaches.
