Job description
Residential & Commercial Door Technician LeadKelowna, BC $35.78 – $40.22 per hour + Union Benefits + Pension + Company Vehicle Fuze HR is currently recruiting for an experienced Residential & Commercial Door Technician Lead on behalf of a well-established and growing industry leader specializing in door, dock, gate, and access solutions. With multiple locations across Canada and a strong reputation for quality workmanship and customer service, our client offers long-term career stability, ongoing training, and opportunities for advancement. Schedule
  • Monday to Friday
  • 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Rotating on-call schedule approximately once every 4–5 weeks
Key Responsibilities
  • Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and residential doors, dock systems, gate operators, automated entrance systems, and related equipment.
  • Lead and mentor junior technicians on job sites.
  • Participate in and support toolbox talks and workplace safety initiatives.
  • Diagnose mechanical and operational issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs.
  • Complete electronic work orders, service reports, and timesheets accurately.
  • Maintain inventory, truck stock, and company equipment.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to company standards.
  • Promote a positive team environment and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Must-Have Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience servicing and/or installing commercial overhead doors, dock equipment, automated entrances, gates, rolling steel doors, high-speed doors, sectional doors, or similar systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience mentoring or supporting junior technicians.
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong computer and administrative skills, including electronic reporting and timesheet management.
  • Ability to lead by example and participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications & Assets
  • Direct experience with loading dock equipment and commercial door systems.
  • Welding experience.
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience leading safety meetings or toolbox talks.
  • Experience working in industrial and commercial environments.
  • Experience training or mentoring apprentices and junior technicians.
