Job descriptionThe Opportunity WSP’s RPM team is one of the most established and exciting teams in Canada. The team consists of environmental technicians, project coordinators, project managers, technical experts, and qualified professionals. We have been providing contaminated site program management services to the world’s most technically focused companies for over 15 years. We consistently have a backlog of 9–12 months and provide growth opportunities for high‑performing team members. We specialise in health and safety, Phase I/II ESAs, risk assessment and remediation. The team takes on the biggest Canadian projects from coast to coast. The projects vary in type, size and complexity, and the successful candidate will be able to utilise the team strengths to manage a large amount of field work efficiently and effectively.
Technical Report Author – Remediation Program Management This position is based in British Columbia and involves evaluating risk and advising on contaminated sites impacted by hydrocarbons (diesel, gasoline, crude oil etc.). It is expected the candidate is self‑motivated with strong time‑management and communication skills.
Your Impact
Participation in a team environment, working closely with and supporting Project Managers and Field Technicians.
Produce high‑quality written technical reports in support of large and small environmental site assessment, monitoring and remediation projects.
Preparation of site‑closure documentation (detailed site investigations, regulatory forms).
QA/QC laboratory data and generate tables.
Compare results to site‑specific regulatory guidelines and/or protocols for reporting needs for various Project Coordinators, Project Managers and Project Directors.
Generate and QA/QC regulatory checklists, forms and other documents in support of reporting requirements to meet the site‑specific project needs of provincial Contaminated Site Regulations, protocols and/or guidelines.
Create, execute and revise work plans to meet Project Manager’s needs.
The Skills That Set You Apart
Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience and/or Engineering.
4–6 years of direct experience in contaminated site assessments, site monitoring and remediation.
Working knowledge of the BC Contaminated Sites Regulation and relevant protocols and technical guidance documents.
Experience with statistical analysis using common analytical software.
Strong technical writing skills.
Sound understanding of the need for health and safety procedures in the workplace and a safety‑conscious attitude.
Ability to work patiently with and help train less‑experienced team members.
Strong interpersonal, communication and key judgement skills.
Experience in the oil and gas sector is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to individuals with extensive experience in soil and groundwater monitoring programs, Phase I and II environmental site assessments, site remediation, provincial Contaminated Site checklists, forms and protocols, and related field experience.

$69,700 – $92,300
MB & ON:
$63,600 – $87,500
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC:
$62,900 – $83,600
