Audit Analyst - 183846-1

On behalf of our client, a premier global financial institution, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Audit Analyst to join their team in downtown Toronto. In this role, you will examine and analyze accounting records to determine the financial status of the establishment and prepare comprehensive financial reports concerning operating procedures. As a critical line of defense and analysis, you will be responsible for evaluating internal controls, ensuring regulatory compliance, and communicating vital audit insights directly to management and key stakeholders.

Responsibilities
•Data Collection & Risk Detection: Collect and analyze financial data to detect deficient controls, duplicated efforts, extravagance, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies.
•Reporting & Insights: Compile detailed, formal reports on audit findings and present asset utilization and audit results directly to management.
•Operational Recommendations: Recommend strategic changes in operations and financial activities based on audit outcomes.
•Systems Evaluation: Examine and evaluate financial and information systems, recommending robust controls to ensure system reliability and data integrity.
•Investigative Auditing: Inspect the day-to-day operations and financials of the organization, reporting any evidence of fraud or operational vulnerability immediately.


Qualifications
Experience & Education
•Experience: 2 to 4 years of dedicated auditing experience.
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, a related financial discipline, or equivalent professional education/experience.
Skills & Competencies
•Technical Accounting: Demonstrated, deep knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to seamlessly apply accounting and mathematical principles to daily tasks.
•Regulatory Knowledge: Advanced understanding of federal, provincial, and corporate policies, procedures, and regulations related to accounting and auditing.
•Software Proficiency: Advanced user proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), MS Project, and specialized accounting/auditing software.
•Soft Skills: Advanced verbal and written communication skills, sharp critical thinking, acute attention to detail, and the ability to exercise significant independent judgment while managing your own time.
Asset (Nice-to-Have)
•Prior experience with or functional knowledge of RBC financial systems and associated banking procedures.
•Hold a relevant professional designation: CPA, CA, CMA, or CIA.
