Could you be the full-time Fleet Planner / Depot Planner in Etobicoke and Whitby, Canada, we’re looking for?
This job posting represents an existing vacancy.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your planning, analytical, and stakeholder-management expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, innovative, and detail-oriented teammates.

You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient fleet availability through data-driven planning and proactive condition management. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business, including Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations, to align planning assumptions with execution, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement.

You’ll specifically take care of developing and maintaining integrated fleet and depot maintenance plans, but also monitoring fleet condition and managing fleet movements.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Developing and maintaining long-, medium-, and short-term fleet and depot maintenance plans aligned with operational and safety requirements

  • Proactively adjusting plans based on fleet condition, performance trends, and operational demand

  • Monitoring fleet condition and defect trends to inform planning priorities

  • Using data and analytics to reduce unplanned maintenance events and improve fleet reliability

  • Planning and balancing labour, materials, and depot capacity for efficient maintenance delivery

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to align planning with execution and communicate risks or changes

  • Tracking maintenance execution and leading recovery planning when needed

  • Applying planning governance, standards, and tools to ensure consistency and compliance

  • Coordinating maintenance activities across outstations and managing fleet movements

  • Driving continuous improvement in planning processes and outcomes

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Planning, Data Analysis, Operations, or a related discipline

  • 2 years of experience in a planning, operational, or complex multi-stakeholder environment

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to work with data, follow structured processes, and support planning decisions

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Willingness to learn and grow in a safety-critical environment

  • Experience with maintenance planning principles and asset lifecycle management

  • Familiarity with CMMS tools (Maximo preferred) and business intelligence tools (Power BI preferred)

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from repetitive daily routines

  • Work with new security standards for rail signalling

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and supportive colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative projects that shape the future of mobility

  • Utilise our flexible and inclusive working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning opportunities

  • Progress towards roles such as Senior Planner or Depot Manager

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

Compensation The expected compensation for this role is $72,000 to $90,000, based on experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
