This is a temporary assignmment estimated to run for up to 2 months with the potential for extension - perfect for someone who wants to gain experience in a specialty pharmacy environment. - Consistent Schedule: Work Monday to Friday, with shifts falling between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. No weekends required!
- The hourly wage ranges from $23 to $24, depending on your level of Kroll, billing, adjudication and (ideally) specialty medication experience
- Up to 2-month assignment based on work performance with full-time hours (extension potential)

Responsibilities
Pharmacy Assistant (Specialty Pharmacy) - Billing & Adjudication Skills Required - Temporary Assignment - up to 2 Months - Markham, ON - Healthcare

Duties may include a variety of things to support patient care and service including:

- Kroll Management: Perform high-volume prescription data entry and process transactions with accuracy using Kroll software.
- Adjudication: Manage third-party billing and claims adjudication, resolving coverage issues and coordinating with insurance providers.
- Patient Support: Communicate professionally with patients regarding medication coordination, coverage, and delivery logistics.
- Team Support: Assist with non-sterile compounding (if experienced) or support the compounding team with preparation and packaging duties.
- Workflow: Maintain patient medication records and assist with inventory management and administrative tasks as required.
- Conducting thorough patient history reviews to ensure all required info is present in patient file and communicating with Patient Support Programs or relevant programs to confirm necessary details.
- Demonstrate strong English communication skills, particularly when interacting with patients over the phone and in written communication. Calls require professionalism, empathy and clear communication as many calls require you to utilize your problem solving skills to support patients dealing with various conditions.
- Reach out to patients to address outstanding account receivables, explaining the purpose of collections calls clearly and effectively.
- Perform data entry tasks, including working with Kroll and handling manual submissions for back billing claims.
- Catch up on workflow items, ensuring timely follow-up with patients and resolving any outstanding billing issues.


Qualifications
Pharmacy Assistant (Specialty Pharmacy) - Billing & Adjudication Skills Required - Temporary Assignment - up to 2 Months - Markham, ON - Healthcare

- 2+ years' previous experience as a pharmacy assistant, regardless of the setting, is required to ensure you are set up for success.
- Experience with ODB billing and adjudication is mandatory.
- Experience supporting private insurance billing and adjudication is mandatory.
- Experience using Kroll in a steady-to-fast paced pharmacy setting is preferred - talent with strong billing and adjudication experience who have used other pharmacy-specific software are encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication skills are crucial for this role.
- This role involves on-site work at all times (not remote, not hybrid)
- Positive team spirit, initiative, and interest in a specialty setting are also a must!

Nice-to-Haves:
- Compounding: Experience with non-sterile compounding is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Education: Graduates from pharmacy assistant programs where Kroll is utilized are highly desired.
