Job Title: Program Manager, Engineering Operations & Strategic Initiatives
Job Location: Hybrid - Vancouver, Canada
Experience: 3+ Years
Job Type: T4 Contract
Rate: 45 to 50 CAD PH

Role Summary: NearSource is seeking a Program Manager, Engineering Operations & Strategic Initiatives to drive alignment, collaboration, and execution across multiple engineering teams and stakeholder groups. This role focuses on facilitating strategic initiatives, improving organizational effectiveness, and enabling engineering teams to move efficiently from planning to execution. The successful candidate will help create clarity, maintain momentum across cross-functional programs, and support operational excellence within a global engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

Drive Strategic Initiatives

  • Coordinate strategic initiatives spanning multiple engineering teams and stakeholder groups.
  • Support goal definition, progress tracking, and execution across ongoing programs.
  • Track action items, decisions, and commitments to ensure timely follow-through.
  • Identify risks, blockers, and dependencies and facilitate resolution.
  • Maintain visibility into initiative progress, outcomes, and key milestones.

Facilitate Collaboration and Alignment

  • Organize and facilitate workshops, working sessions, planning meetings, and cross-functional discussions.
  • Drive alignment across teams with varying priorities and objectives.
  • Prepare agendas, presentation materials, meeting summaries, and action plans.
  • Enable teams to translate discussions into clear decisions and executable next steps.
  • Support retrospectives, deep dives, strategic planning sessions, and alignment workshops.

Support Engineering Effectiveness

  • Contribute to engineering forums, summits, communities of practice, and cross-functional programs.
  • Enhance communication, coordination, and information sharing across engineering organizations.
  • Execute continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen operational excellence.
  • Provide leadership teams with visibility into strategic priorities and key initiatives.

Leverage Modern Collaboration Tools

  • Utilize collaboration and visualization platforms to facilitate discussions and decision-making.
  • Apply AI-enabled tools to improve planning, communication, productivity, and execution workflows.
  • Promote effective collaboration practices and scalable ways of working across teams.

Must-Have Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in program management, project coordination, engineering operations, product operations, consulting, operations, or related disciplines.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating work across multiple teams and stakeholder groups.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining execution discipline.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience tracking actions, risks, dependencies, and program outcomes.
  • Ability to operate effectively within fast-paced and evolving environments.
  • Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and follow-through capabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience working within software development, technology, or engineering organizations.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, retrospectives, brainstorming sessions, and planning discussions.
  • Familiarity with facilitation frameworks such as Design Thinking, Lean Coffee, Open Space Technology, Liberating Structures, or similar methodologies.
  • Experience with collaboration and visualization tools such as Miro, Mural, Lucid, Luma, or Confluence.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to support research, communication, meeting preparation, and productivity workflows.
  • Experience organizing internal communities, forums, events, or cross-functional initiatives.
  • Background in consulting, organizational effectiveness, community building, or technical operations environments.
