Additional information regarding the Board is available on the Board’s web site at.POSITION SUMMARY The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board is seeking applicants with Transportation and/or Construction and/or Design Technology skills to fulfill this position. The individual may be a qualified Trades Teacher or a qualified tradesperson with a willingness to become qualified to Teach/fulfill this role. Interested applicants holding Trades qualifications (without teaching qualifications) may wish to review the following links: The position provides in-person and virtual learning opportunities to students in all schools in the system, with a priority of equity of opportunity for students.The successful applicant will be required to commit to a three year term, with the position subject to annual review based on budget considerations.QUALIFICATIONS Ontario College of Teachers certification with Transportation, Construction or Design Technology qualifications; OR A combination of post-secondary or apprenticeship program education and at least two years of work experience in a business or industry related to technology AND willingness and ability to complete the requirements for certification by the Ontario College of Teachers (see Registration Guide, for more information on the Ontario College of Teachers’ requirements for certification as a teacher of technological education.)A valid Ontario Driver's License & willingness to travel throughout the Board's geographical area and outside of the region for training and to support student supervision required. Ability to work collaboratively with Keewatin-Patricia District School Board Leads/Teachers to promote Pathways, Special High Skills Major, Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program, Dual Credit, and trades and technology programs. Thorough understanding of curriculum documents, Ministry and Board initiatives related to technological studies (Specialist High Skills Major/Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program) and a willingness to promote programs, incorporate technology into virtual and classroom settings, and support technology studies in remote/rural school communities. The ability to promote trades and technology programs, employment opportunities, pathways options for students, and to build partnerships with employers and community partners. Experience/expertise/abilities in instructional and assessment practices in both in-person and virtual environments. Support preparation of students to compete in regional and provincial Skills Competitions, including registration, supervision, and travel. Organize board wide Skills competition.Please provide a copy of the Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of qualification.
