Job Description

What is the opportunity?

In this role, you will design and execute organizational change strategies across RBC Investor Services transformation initiatives, with direct responsibility for change adoption, stakeholder engagement, and business outcomes. You will own the change of lifecycle from readiness assessment through post-implementation sustainability—ensuring initiatives drive lasting behavioral change while minimizing disruption and building organizational resilience. This is an execution-focused role that bridges business transformation objectives with people’s readiness and organizational capability.

You report to the Managing Director, Strategic Transformation and work horizontally across Operations, Client Management, Technology, Product, Risk, Compliance, and Finance teams. You are accountable for change adoption excellence, stakeholder alignment, and sustained value realization across your portfolio of initiatives.

What will you do?

  • Own change strategy end-to-end, developing comprehensive change management plans with clear communication cadences, stakeholder engagement approaches, and readiness assessments; track adoption metrics and escalate resistance and barriers with proactive mitigation strategies
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and readiness, serving as the primary change advocate across impacted populations; understanding change impact, translate business rationale into compelling narratives, and manage expectations through transparent communication and regular touchpoints
  • Orchestrate change activities, aligning Communications, Learning & Development, HR, Operations, and Technology teams; coordinate training delivery, process redesigns, and support mechanisms; resolve change conflicts and unblock adoption barriers with clear decision-making
  • Define and enforce change gates (e.g., Readiness Confirmed, Training Complete, Go-Live Support Ready, Stabilization Achieved) that confirm organizational preparedness before advancing program phases
  • Produce and maintain change artifacts: comprehensive change management plans, stakeholder impact assessments, communication calendars, training materials, adoption dashboards, and sustainability plans that ensure full traceability from strategy through sustained adoption
  • Manage change effectiveness and ROI, tracking adoption rates, tracking engagement metrics, and quantifying business impact through improved compliance, efficiency, and user satisfaction; communicate change outcomes clearly to stakeholders
  • Establish disciplined change governance, maintaining clear communication and decision cadence with transparent impact analysis, options, recommendations, and follow-ups; escalate unresolved change risks to senior leadership with clear recommendations and mitigation plans
  • Build and develop change capability, coaching change agents and communications teams, reinforcing discipline in stakeholder engagement, and raising organizational capability in change management practices

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • 8+ years in organizational change management, with significant exposure to large-scale transformations in regulated, matrix-driven environments
  • Proven track record managing change across multi-initiative programs (preferably impacting 500+ employees) in financial services, with measurable adoption and engagement outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills; ability to build coalitions, navigate competing priorities, and drive consensus across diverse populations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; comfort presenting to executive and board audiences and crafting compelling change narratives
  • Demonstrated expertise in change management frameworks (ADKAR, Prosci, or similar) and ability to apply discipline to adoption planning and measurement
  • Commercial acumen; understanding of how organizational change drives business value and operational efficiency
  • Advanced change management discipline: skilled in impact assessment, stakeholder mapping, communication planning, and resistance management
  • Influencing capability; able to engage and motivate diverse stakeholders without positional authority
  • Systems thinking: ability to see dependencies across organizational structure, technology enablement, people readiness, and process redesign

Nice-to-have:

  • PROSCI, Certified Change Manager (CCM), or equivalent change management certification
  • Lean/Six Sigma or organizational development certification
  • Direct experience designing and implementing change advisory councils or governance structures
  • Background in financial services operations or technology implementations
  • MBA or equivalent business qualification

What's in it for you?

We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper. We care about each other, reaching our potential, making a difference to our communities, and achieving success that is mutual.

  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses, flexible benefits, competitive compensation, and stock where applicable
  • Leaders who support your development through coaching and mentoring
  • Ability to make a direct, lasting impact on organizational adoption and business performance
  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, and high-performing organization
  • Flexible work/life balance options
  • Opportunities to take on progressively greater accountabilities
  • Access to a variety of career paths and roles across RBC
