Job description
Enhance the lives of children and families as a Child Care Worker with Payukotayno in Moosonee. This role focuses on culturally grounded care and community engagement to support First Nations families.

In your role, you will engage deeply in relationships with children, caregivers, and community members. Responsibilities include providing emotional and logistical support while monitoring care placements, all within the framework of Indigenous traditions. You’ll leverage your understanding of cultural practices and legal standards to ensure compliance and respect within your interventions.

Key Responsibilities: • Build trust-based relationships with children and families • Engage with community stakeholders for cultural safety • Document placements and wellbeing indicators accurately • Maintain confidentiality in legal and ethical practice • Participate in reflective supervision and culturally guided development

Requirements: • Diploma or degree in Child and Youth Work or related field • Familiarity with First Nations families in Northern Ontario • Experience in crisis or foster care settings • Strong organizational and communication skills • Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License required
