Job description
We are looking for a caring, patient, and reliable nanny to support our 2-year-old son, Yusuf, in our home. Yusuf is a sweet and cheerful little boy with Down syndrome. He benefits from gentle, loving care, a consistent routine, and play-based developmental support. We are looking for someone who will treat him with kindness, dignity, patience, and encouragement while helping him grow and thrive. Responsibilities include: Providing safe, attentive childcare for Yusuf Supporting his daily routine, including meals, naps, diapering/toileting, hygiene, and playtime Engaging him in age-appropriate activities that support speech, movement, sensory play, and learning Following parent guidance and any therapy-related routines already in place Helping with light child-related household tasks Keeping Yusuf’s environment calm, positive, and structured Communicating with parents about his day, needs, progress, and any concerns Ideal candidate: Has experience caring for infants, toddlers, or young children Experience with Down syndrome, developmental delays, or children needing extra support is an asset Is warm, patient, dependable, and trustworthy Is comfortable encouraging speech, play, mobility, and independence in a gentle way Has First Aid/CPR certification or is willing to obtain it Can provide references Police/vulnerable sector check preferred Non-smoker preferred We are hoping to find someone who will become a supportive and positive presence in Yusuf’s life and help create a safe, loving, and encouraging environment for him.
