Manager, Intensive Care & Cardiorespiratory - Temporary Full-Time

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is a multi-site organization that includes the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Site and the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Site, and together we provide outstanding, integrated care to support people in living their healthiest lives.

The Manager will ensure that MAHC provides effective, efficient, and safe operation in compliance with all legal requirements and accepted ethical and professional practices expected in a intensive care and cardiorespiratory services in accordance with standards, policies and procedures of the hospital and appropriate regulating bodies. The Manager will promote patient- and family-centered care, support organizational goals, and collaborate with Medical Directors, Administration, and inter-professional teams to implement evidence-based practices.

ROLE

• Plan, organize, direct, and oversee the operations and performance of assigned clinical departments
• Develop, implement, and evaluate departmental policies, procedures, goals, and strategic plans to support organizational objectives
• Coordinate clinical, administrative, fiscal, and technical activities to ensure efficient and effective patient care services
• Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices
• Prepare and manage departmental operating and capital budgets, monitor financial performance, and support resource utilization initiatives
• Oversee inventory management, equipment performance, product evaluations, and procurement activities
• Lead, coach, mentor, and evaluate staff while supporting recruitment, orientation, scheduling, attendance management, and professional development
• Monitor departmental quality indicators, patient satisfaction, benchmarking activities, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Collaborate on accreditation activities, patient safety programs, educational initiatives, and quality assurance processes
• Participate in organizational committees, project management initiatives, program development, and reporting requirements while providing leadership across multiple sites

QUALIFICATIONS

• Post-secondary education as a Regulated Health Professional required
• 5 years of current progressive professional experience with a focus in intensive care
• 3 years of current progressive leadership experience in a unionized setting
• Current Regulated Health Care Provider in good standing with their governing body
• Recognized credentials in medical/surgical and critical care

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Location: Multi-Site, working on site at both the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville. Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting. *Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis

Hours of Work: Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.
