Job description

Join our Team as a FULL-TIME / PART-TIME / CASUAL Youth Care Worker!

Work Hours:

  • Weekdays 23:30-09:30 15:00-00:00
  • Weekends and non-school days 08:00-20:00 09:00-21:00 10:00-22:00 11:00-23:00 12:00-00:00 23:30-11:30

As a Youth Care Worker you will be a key player in creating a safe nurturing and structured living environment. You will work alongside participants to help them grow thrive and reach their full potential. Your role will involve fully engaging in all aspects of the group living and person-centered experience offering both emotional and physical support while being a positive role model.

  • Work schedules with shift rotations that allow for 3 to 5 days break between shift rotations.
  • Evening weekend and overnight shifts which provide many individuals the flexibility to attend classes coordinate childcare and allow plenty of time for outside interests.

  • A fast-paced environment where you are active with youth out in the community doing activities such as swimming hiking fishing and attending community events.

Qualifications:

Education and Professional Certification

  • Completion of a High school diploma.
  • A certificate diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care Disability Support or a related field is an asset.

Experience

  • At least one (1) year of experience working with children youth and/or adults with behavioral cognitive mental health or developmental challenges.

  • Basic computer skills and the ability to leverage them in your daily tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate support to individuals with complex needs fostering a safe and nurturing environment where they feel valued and supported.
  • Bring your creativity to life by helping develop and implement engaging activity plans that encourage participation.
  • Teach essential life skills like self-care cooking cleaning budgeting and building positive social connections.
  • Resolve conflicts with empathy and use behavior management strategies such as conflict resolution crisis management and life space interviewing to guide participants through challenges.
  • Collaborate with clinical professionals and program managers to share insights that will help guide treatment plans and goal setting.
  • Prioritize promote and reinforce safe work practices creating a secure environment for both participants and staff.
  • Actively participate in team meetings contributing your ideas and experiences to help improve the care we provide.
  • Complete documentation and reports with accuracy and clarity ensuring all agency standards are met.
  • Lead by example representing the agencys values and demonstrating fairness respect and positivity.
  • Perform other related duties as needed to support participants and the team.

The successful candidate is responsible for completing all mandatory training requirements for the position as per agency policy and guidelines. The successful candidate must hold a class five (5) novice two (2) or higher drivers license and be eligible for coverage under our commercial auto insurance policy. The successful candidate will work in a shift work environment as we operate 365/24/7.

Wage: Full-Time/Part Time starting at $25.06 per hour.
Casual starting at $20.97 per hour.
