Job description
Hi my name us Gailene, I'm looking for a caregiver with experience with the elderly and dementia, to work directly with my mother who is 89 years old and secondary to baby sit on occasions and help me with special need adults un my home. Bathing my Mom daily, helping her to get dressed, brushing her teeth, changing her diapers, helping her to and from bathroom and or commode, keeping her surroundings, bed sheets clean. cutting nails and taking her out for a walk in her wheel chair on good days. cleaning, a bit of laundry and light meal preparation, There are two special need individual also in my home one fully functional the other need a little help with showers, and lunch bags for school. 4 days a week generally: 9:30 am to 3:30pm. Occasional babysitting some evenings and weekends. Once a year two full weeks in August for our vacation. Some holidays but never Christmas. References, but not necessary. First aid and cpr! Some knowledge of dementia especially the different types to be able to recognize the signs and know how to work with it. Some light massage and bed excercises. Patience, kindness, self control. Respect for the job not needing to be told what to do all the time and not taking things for granted and absolutely no sleeping on the job. Experience in administering medication and filling in the time and amount table. Blood pressure and sugar readings with daily result charts. There are fire safety proceedures posted. Emergency numbers and contacts are posted Medical and behavioral descriptions of each of the patients or client working with are in files that are accessible. Home phones, wifi and place of security are available incase of fire or inherent natural disaster.
