The base salary range for Contract Lectures hired August 16, 2026 through August 15, 2027 is $79,644.07 to $101,855.82 per annum. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications. Contract amounts are calculated based on the number of semester hours in the appointment.

DG8112 - Physical Computing
Class Size: Up to 45 students
Description:
Using the human body and our senses (vision, acoustic, touch, taste, smell, proprioception – physical
sense of self movement) as an organizing model, this course introduces students to Physical
Computing practices. Students will learn about digital and analog sensor systems, be introduced to
micro-controllers, computer sensor systems and ubiquitous computing.
Course Details
- This course will require students to download and program use Arduino IDE software.
This production course is a three-hour per week lab / lecture that will be taught using hands-on, participatory learning strategies. Student-guided project development and learning will be encouraged as will peer support, critique and instruction. Content will be delivered primarily through self guided exploration, workshops and readings. These will be supplemented with illustrated lectures, demonstrations, production time, discussions, assignments and critiques.
Time: Mondays from 11-2. This course time is not movable
