We are looking for a talented, dynamic, and driven individual to join our Human Resources team as an Assistant HR Manager at our Distribution Centre in Paris, Ontario

Reporting to the Senior HR Manager, this role is both strategic and hands-on, providing operational support across a range of Human Resources activities while developing foundational HR capabilities. The role contributes to the delivery of HR processes and supports the ongoing effectiveness of HR programs and systems. The Assistant HR Manager partners closely with managers and employees to ensure HR programs are implemented effectively and aligned with adidas policies and values. This role plays a key part in fostering a positive employee experience and supporting the overall success of the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish HR as a trusted business partner by ensuring HR initiatives, programs, and policies are clearly understood and effectively implemented within the client group.
  • Assist Senior HR Managers in structuring and developing teams to maximize performance and engagement. Coach managers on talent management and how to effectively motivate and challenge all team members (from high performers to underperformers).
  • Compile, analyze, and maintain Excel and Power BI reports to support data-driven insights and decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate employee and organizational data in HRIS systems with a high level of attention to detail, and support updates in SAP in partnership with HR Services.
  • Coach and support employees in navigating workplace issues, career development, and HR programs and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies in all HR processes
  • Address employee relations matters as both a management coach and employee advocate, applying effective mediation and problem-solving with a strong understanding of company policies and practices. May assist with and provide input into especially high-level or sensitive employee relations matters, such as terminations and investigations.
  • Support talent identification and succession activities; partner with Talent Acquisition and line managers throughout the recruitment and selection process.
  • Contribute to cross-functional HR projects in partnership with COEs (e.g., Talent Acquisition, Rewards, Learning, Global HR) to support business objectives.
  • Partner with the assigned client group and Rewards to support job evaluation and job description development, ensuring alignment with GSMS and organizational standards.
  • Provide guidance to the client group on compensation matters, ensuring alignment with internal equity and established frameworks.
  • Conduct New Employee Orientation (NEO) as needed.
  • Identify and support the implementation of process improvements to enhance HR efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Contribute to HR process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows, enhance tools, and improve reporting and efficiency.
  • Perform general administrative tasks as needed, including file management and invoice processing.
  • Other duties as assigned by HR Leadership.

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/ MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary education in an HR-related field or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience, in an HR Generalist role preferred
  • Experience with employee relations and leading investigations preferred
  • Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment is an asset.
  • Thorough understanding and working knowledge of employment legislation across Canada
  • Previous experience working with an international business/organization preferred

HEALTH & SAFETY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following are the duties and responsibilities of all adidas Canada full-time, seasonal-temporary and Fixed-Term workers:

  • Keep workplace safe and orderly.
  • Report all accidents, injuries, contraventions of the Act and unsafe conditions to the Supervisor / Manager.
  • Inspect immediate workplace daily and maintain to standards and report any hazards to Supervisor / Manager immediately.
  • Use and wear the personal protective equipment or clothing required by the Occupational health & Safety Act and / or the Company and shall not remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the regulations or by the Company without providing an adequate temporary protective device.
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Act and the Company safety policies.
  • Report to Supervisor / Manager the absence of, or any defect in, any equipment or protective devices of which s/he is aware, and which may endanger her/himself or another worker; and also, any hazard of which s/he knows.
  • Not use or operate any equipment, machine, device or thing or work in a manner that may endanger him/herself or any other worker, nor engage in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct.
  • Know and employ established rules and procedures for handling hazardous materials, equipment and processes.

  • The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is $75,-$85, CAD. Actual salary will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills and competencies, proficiency for the role.
  • Employees are eligible to earn an annual bonus based on both company and personal performance. We recognize the commitment of our employees by increasing vacation time with length of service. We also offer Service Awards & Service Time Off during milestone years, paid bereavement leave, and parental leave top-up to eligible employees.
  • At adidas we offer a Hybrid work policy which requires attendance in the office 4 days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely 1 day each week. The working location of this position is Paris, Ontario.
