Job description

Garibaldi Glass is a Canadian and privately-owned architectural glass fabrication facility serving local and international markets. Since 1966, Garibaldi Glass has grown to become the premier source of innovative glass solutions, with over 200 employees working in our 160,000 square foot facility in Burnaby, BC. As we look towards our next 60 years, we are eager to continue our journey to excellence through the continuous improvement of our products and processes to become the leading custom glass fabricator on the West Coast.

THE OPPORTUNITY

At Garibaldi Glass, we believe people are at the heart of what we do. As our Manager of People and Culture, you will play a pivotal role in our organization by cultivating an environment where employees thrive, leaders grow, and teams excel.

You will work closely with leadership and employees to champion initiatives that enhance engagement, strengthen workplace relationships, and foster personal and professional growth. With a hands-on approach to health and safety, talent acquisition, and HR systems, you will help ensure Garibaldi remains a safe, inclusive, and inspiring place to work. If you are passionate about creating meaningful employee experiences, driving organizational excellence, and leading with integrity, this is the role for you.

  • Introduce external education opportunities to provide employees with cutting-edge industry knowledge.
  • Leverage the Learning Management System and related HR tools to support training delivery, track employee learning, maintain training records, and identify opportunities to strengthen development across the organization.

Health & Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure HR practices remain compliant with labour laws and regulations, while managing HR-related risk and legal matters to protect the organization.
  • Lead safety initiatives to ensure COR audit readiness, address gaps in standards, and foster a proactive safety culture in collaboration with the Safety team and Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
  • Manage relationships with WorkSafeBC and benefits providers, ensuring effective claims management, recovery programs, and a thoughtful approach to employee wellbeing and total rewards.
  • Develop initiatives that promote physical and mental wellbeing, enhancing overall employee satisfaction and productivity.

HR Tools & Systems

  • Ensure HR-related documents, records, and systems are accurately maintained, securely managed, and aligned with operational and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee the implementation and utilization of the Learning Management System, including training records, development planning, and opportunities to strengthen employee growth.
  • Coordinate and support the performance appraisal process, ensuring consistency, fairness, and alignment with organizational goals while equipping managers and employees for meaningful feedback conversations.
