Job description

For more than 75 years, Ledcor has grown alongside its clients and communities to become one of North America’s most diverse groups of companies. As a multi‑faceted construction organization, Ledcor delivers specialized expertise across a variety of sectors.

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Communications, the Communications Advisor is responsible for developing external communications materials in alignment with established strategies, and deliverables that support Ledcor’s corporate objectives and strengthen the organization’s brand presence. The role focuses on coordinating and executing a broad range of communications initiatives across digital platforms, media channels, and corporate publications in collaboration with Corporate Communications team members and stakeholders across the enterprise. The position also partners with business units to support the planning, development, review, and execution of communications projects and deliverables.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the development of engaging and innovative content for Ledcor’s digital communications channels, including written copy, imagery, and video content that aligns with the organization’s brand voice, resonates with target audiences, and encourages engagement.
  • Manage content across digital platforms including social media, website, advertising, and earned media opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with Corporate Communications, Business Units, and internal stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and cohesive brand representation across all channels.
  • Proactively engage with business units and leverage existing resources to maintain a strong and consistent content pipeline supporting ongoing communications initiatives.
  • Track project lifecycles in collaboration with Business Units to identify and capitalize on milestone opportunities for digital storytelling and external promotion.
  • Serve as a writer for The Globe, Ledcor’s bi‑annual client magazine featuring projects, business highlights, and community initiatives from across the enterprise.
  • Develop project features and business profiles in alignment with established editorial standards and messaging objectives for a client‑focused audience.
  • Partner with stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather accurate, timely information and coordinate content reviews and approvals across multiple business areas.
  • Support ongoing website development initiatives by sourcing and preparing content, photos, and project information for business stories and project profiles.
  • Ensure all website content is accurate, consistent, aligned with brand standards, and approved through the appropriate review channels prior to publication.
  • Translate award wins and recognition opportunities into marketing and communications assets for use across the website, social media platforms, and corporate publications to support recruitment, brand awareness, and business development objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal communications teams, business units, and external partners to coordinate content review and approval processes.
  • Assist with media monitoring activities related to industry trends, planned announcements, emerging issues, and topics that may impact Ledcor’s reputation or business interests.
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for media inquiries – supporting intake, information gathering, and coordination with Corporate Communications and business leaders.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2years of experience in digital communications, corporate communications, media relations, marketing, or a related field.
  • College, Trade, or Technical Diploma (2year) in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content tailored to various audiences and channels.
  • Strong creative thinking and storytelling abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to develop engaging communications strategies and campaigns.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret engagement metrics, identify trends, and support data‑informed decision‑making.
  • Knowledge of communications and marketing trends, emerging digital platforms, and industry best practices.
  • Experience developing content for digital platforms in a corporate or agency environment is considered an asset.
  • Media relations experience is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) is considered an asset.
  • Experience with digital advertising platforms (e.g., Meta/Facebook Ads Manager) is considered an asset.
