We are currently seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Specialist to support our growing operations in Burlington, Ontario. In this critical role, you will report directly to the Payroll Manager and take full ownership of the timely, accurate processing of full-cycle bi-weekly payrolls across three separate corporate entities.

Advantages
• Competitive base salary scaled between $55,000.00 and $62,000.00 per year, commensurate with experience.
• Flexible, modern hybrid work environment combining on-site collaboration and remote flexibility.
• Robust corporate group benefits insurance plan covering health, dental, and medical needs.
• Employer-sponsored Group RRSP program to support long-term personal financial security.
• Clear path for career progression and rapid professional advancement within a growing finance division.

• Reconcile general ledger accounts, process journal entries, and coordinate monthly remittance requests for Union dues, benefit invoices, and WSIB.
• Audit documentation for new hires, organizational transfers, and terminations to ensure continuous legislative alignment.
• Support the generation, verification, and filing of year-end tax slips (T4s) along with system rollover activities into the new fiscal year.
• Provide clear, consistent interpretations of Collective Agreements, Employment Standards Act (ESA), and Canada Labour Code (CLC) regulations.
• Act as the principal point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies, tax deductions, and benefit allocations.
• Identify system inefficiencies and actively participate in driving automated process improvement initiatives within the finance & accounting unit.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA), Canada Labour Code (CLC), and unionized payroll frameworks.
• Strong foundational knowledge of group benefits administration and corporate retirement savings structures (RRSP).
• Advanced analytical skills with the ability to manipulate data tables and pivot functions within MS Excel.
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills to navigate stakeholder relations.
• Strong organizational capability to manage tight deadlines, high-volume processing cycles, and conflicting priorities under pressure.
• Logical, methodical problem-solving framework with an absolute commitment to data security and employee confidentiality.
