Automation Site Equipment Area Owner

We are looking to fill a future vacancy for an Automation Site Equipment Area Owner to join our team in Brantford, Ontario at our Greater Toronto Fulfillment Centre (GTFC).

ROLE:

The Site Equipment Area Owner (SEAO) role is intended to lead efforts that identify and drive out loss themes across the zone. The SEAO will lead the effort to establish proven standards and systems. The SEAO will role model the use of DMS’s and own daily results with their zone owners. The SEAO will have an understanding of all quality systems and IWS methodologies. These individuals will resource project and initiative process definition.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead an Equipment Area within a Module

  • Drive module reapplication of success.

  • Systematize the tracking tools.

  • Participate as an auditor for Autonomous Maintenance audits.

  • Build technical expertise / leadership across the module.

  • Lead failure analysis to root cause for select breakdowns.

  • Standardize procedures and planned work orders for priority maintenance tasks, including Technical Data Base.

  • Build on current systems (RLS, Centerlines, changeover checklists, etc.)

  • Lead implementation of improvement projects.

  • Work with in house experts and vendors. Secure funding as needed.

  • Partner with Zone Owners / Line Leadership to ensure Equipment, CPE’s, Speeds & Centerlines are correct verses Base and upgrades. (process control)

  • Ensure Standards are defined/updated, verified, documented and deployed across lines and teams

  • Partner with Zone Owners / Line Leadership to ensure process & equipment is maintained

  • Proactively look across lines for common chronic issues and special cause disruptions

  • Partner with Operations to resolve problems/needs at root Cause

ACQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Basic and Advanced Equipment Area Skills

  • Process Improvement / Zone Standardization

  • Project / Initiative CQV

  • Qualified in Loss Elimination (Work Improvements)

  • Process Control Systems

  • Quality Systems

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Site SPOC on the equipment area network

  • Lead and/or participate in all loss reduction

  • As needed, assist in validations, upon completion of successful testing and approval, enable re-application on other lines

  • Flexible to work days, nights, and weekends based on critical business needs

  • Ability to use Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Flexibility to Travel as needed.

  • Provide leadership in standards for RLS, CIL, Maintenance Strategy, Centerline including CPE, Equipment and RCO

Job Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in a relevant technical field

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent education

  • High personal integrity

  • Probe deeply into follow-up to enable urgent Root cause resolution

  • recognized expert to build capability and standards within the plant

  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to work as a good team player.

  • Strong problem-solving skills – ability to identify and resolve issues/conflicts effectively

  • Strong communication skills – ability to communicate effectively with others both verbally and in writing.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift, lower, carry, push & pull objects up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to flex, extend, and rotate neck

  • The ability to work at heights & climb stairs/ladders/platforms, etc., on and around equipment.

  • Stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time. Surface: Concrete, gravel, asphalt (uneven surfaces), and equipment.

  • Twist bend at the knees, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and reach.

  • The ability to meet the requirements of safe operation and personal safety, including wearing PPE and the ability to respond appropriately to various visual and audible alarms and signals

  • Operate a computer and keyboard to input and access data, and phone as well as scanners and electronic interfaces.

  • The ability to enter and work in enclosed areas.

  • The ability to work in extreme temperatures both hot and cold, generally in warehouse conditions including wide variances in temperature, dust and dirt.

  • Learn/Know terminology and functions of machine components.

  • Meet the requirements of Quality/Good Manufacturing Practices/Good Lab Practices, following applicable gowning/de-gowning when working in the lab.

  • Ability to position & move cases of product, bottles, connect hoses, handle glass flasks and bottles, etc. (may include grasping)

  • Work around strong odor of perfume or wear the appropriate PPE to eliminate the odor.
