We endure any condition, observe every detail, and are building a community that believes in living bravely and coming together to support game-changing people.Here, opportunities are everywhere - to try something new, to learn, to do meaningful and impactful work, and they're yours for the taking.Position Overview:As the Shop Floor Mechanic I, you will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems.About The Role:Perform maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, mechanical, minor electrical, troubleshooting, and repairs to production equipment and Sewing MachinesRespond to production maintenance requests by supervisors and/or the Production Manager and Lead Mechanic in a timely mannerCommunicate with Production Manager regarding any downtime or maintenance issues that may affect productionUse a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing dutiesPerform planned preventative maintenance on production equipment according to the Preventative Maintenance Program and scheduleLubricate, clean, maintain and repair machinery, equipment and toolsComply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areasMaintain adequate parts, supplies and equipment for the production and maintenance departmentsProvide suggestions on improving sewing processesCapable of programming PS700/800, assist with line designCapable of Template design and implementation for Richpeace, Juki PS700 and PS800 machinesAbout You:High School diploma/GED5 years of Maintenance experienceMinimum 2 years experience working on Industrial Sewing MachinesBuilding trades’ certificate, or equivalent, considered an assetMinimum 3 years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of sewing equipmentGood understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Fire CodeAble to create alternative solutions to problemsAbility to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible mannerStrong attention to detailEffective verbal and written communication skillsStrong time management skillsBasic computer skills in order to respond to email inquiries and place orders; MS Office and ExcelMust be comfortable with heavy lifting up to 50lbsAbility to prioritize, multi-task, operate proactively, work as a team and handle challengesExcellent decision-making abilities, interpersonal and analytical skillsAbility to evaluate options and generate solutionsAbility to programming PS700/800Ability of Template design and implementation for Richpeace, Juki PS700 and PS800 machinesWorking Conditions:Manufacturing EnvironmentWhat’s in it For You?A company built on Canadian roots and heritageYour work is recognized with a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards ProgramOpportunities for career growth through numerous internal and external programsRecognize and be recognized by your peers with our Goose Rewards & ICON RewardsBe a part of CG Gives.
