Journeyman Electrician (Commercial Warehouse project)
Project Overview
Join a high-performing team supporting the delivery of a large-scale commercial warehouse new-build. This role is ideal for an experienced Journeyman Electrician who takes pride in quality workmanship and thrives in a fast-paced, schedule-driven construction environment. You’ll play a key role in installing electrical infrastructure and conveyor systems, helping bring a modern distribution facility online.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, run, and bend conduit (including EMT) up to 1.5 inches; use a hand bender for conduit up to one inch while maintaining clean, professional workmanship.
- Complete wiring, installation, and commissioning of conveyor systems, including modular plug-and-play components.
- Perform wire pulls, ensuring proper routing, labeling, and termination in line with project drawings and electrical codes.
- Terminate and label wiring on panels, conveyor systems, and related equipment for clarity and future maintenance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings to execute installations accurately and efficiently.
- Work safely at heights using scissor lifts and other approved aerial work platforms.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including fall protection, lockout/tagout, and WHMIS requirements.
- Support installation of modular electrical systems throughout the facility.
- Collaborate with supervisors, apprentices, and other trades to maintain smooth workflow and minimize downtime.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper handling and storage of tools and equipment.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and solutions effectively with the team and site leadership.
- Meet attendance expectations, production targets, and quality standards consistently.
Qualifications & Skills
- Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent commercial/industrial experience.
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in commercial or industrial electrical work.
- Strong conduit bending and installation skills (EMT and conduit up to 1.5 inches).
- Proven experience in wire pulling, conduit installation, and electrical system setup.
- Experience working with conveyor systems, including wiring, terminating, and labeling.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics confidently.
- Valid certifications: Fall Protection, WHMIS (within the past year), AWP, and lockout/tagout.
- Comfortable working at heights using scissor lifts and similar equipment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills with a reliable, professional work ethic.
- Ability to pass a government record check for site access.
Preferred Experience
- Work on large distribution or fulfillment centers (., high-volume warehouse projects).
- Exposure to both commercial and industrial electrical environments.
- Familiarity with modular plug-and-play systems in warehouse or conveyor applications.
- Experience mentoring apprentices or supporting junior team members.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving construction setting.

Work Environment & Schedule
- Large, modern warehouse construction project running through approximately November.
- Monday to Friday schedule: 7:00 . to 5:00 .
- 30-minute unpaid lunch; 9.5 paid hours per day.
- Overtime opportunities likely as the project progresses, including potential Saturdays.
- Non-union commercial construction site with a strong safety culture.
- Work includes extensive overhead installations, conduit runs, and conveyor system wiring.
