Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced
Health & Safety Specialist to lead and oversee all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) functions within a manufacturing environment for our client in Brantford, ON. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering a strong safety culture across the organization.
Ideally, you are a confident leader with the ability to influence stakeholders, manage complex safety programs, and support a safe and compliant workplace.
- Pay Rate: $30.00-$33.00 /hour (based on experience)
- Location: Brantford, ON (Onsite)
- Schedule: Monday-Friday | Between 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
- Job Type: 18-20 months contract

Responsibilities: - Manage the full scope of the Health & Safety function, including policy development, implementation, and ongoing program management
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to promote safety initiatives and gain organizational buy-in
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and environmental regulations and standards
- Lead workplace safety initiatives, including hazard identification, risk assessments, and continuous improvement programs
- Oversee quality control processes and environmental health & safety programs
- Manage WSIB claims and support return-to-work programs, ensuring timely resolution and compliance
- Provide guidance on employee relations matters related to health and safety
- Develop, implement, and enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and other critical safety protocols
- Deliver and maintain effective health & safety training programs for employees and leadership teams
- Monitor, audit, and report on safety performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement
- Promote a proactive, safety-first culture throughout the organization
Qualifications and Skills: - Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field (post-graduate certification/designation preferred)
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within food manufacturing
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and delivering health & safety training programs
- Strong knowledge of provincial health & safety legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience managing WSIB claims and return-to-work programs
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive change
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Fast-paced manufacturing setting
- High level of cross-functional collaboration
- Focus on safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
- Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
