Job Title: Plumber
Job Description
This role supports a variety of large commercial construction projects, including new builds and renovations, across Langley and Abbotsford. You will install and service plumbing and mechanical systems, with a strong focus on sanitary, drainage, water piping, and hydronic heating and cooling systems. You will contribute to building and fitting out mechanical rooms and installing equipment that integrates both plumbing and hydronic systems on institutional and commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Install sanitary, drainage, and water piping systems on new commercial construction and renovation projects.
- Install and assemble mechanical systems using 4"–6" Victaulic piping for hydronic heating and cooling applications.
- Build and fit out mechanical rooms, including installing plumbing and hydronic equipment and associated piping.
- Install and connect cast iron piping and water lines according to project specifications and applicable codes.
- Work on institutional and commercial buildings, ensuring high-quality installations that meet design and safety requirements.
- Interpret drawings and design-build documentation to complete plumbing and mechanical installations accurately.
- Use hand tools such as hack saws, levels, tape measures, channel locks, and crescent wrenches safely and effectively.
- Collaborate with site teams and other trades to support integrated project delivery (IPD) and design-build workflows.
- Lift, carry, and position materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs as part of daily tasks.
- Travel to and from multiple project sites in Langley, Abbotsford, and surrounding areas as required.
- Follow site safety procedures and participate in a safe work culture, including the use of appropriate tools and equipment.
- Support the installation and commissioning of unique and modern heating and cooling systems on specialized projects.
Essential Skills
- Registered plumbing apprentice (any year) through to Journeyperson level.
- Experience in new commercial construction environments.
- Ability to install sanitary, drainage, and water piping systems.
- Ability to work with mechanical piping, including 4"–6" Victaulic piping for hydronic heating and cooling systems.
- Capability to assist in building mechanical rooms and installing plumbing and hydronic equipment.
- Proficiency using basic hand tools, including hand tools and belt, hack saw, level, tape measure, channel lock, and crescent wrench.
- Ability to travel independently to various job sites.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks that require standing, bending, and working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Experience installing plumbing systems in new construction and institutional or commercial buildings.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Mechanical room installation experience.
- Red Seal Plumber certification.
- Access to a personal vehicle for travel between sites.
- AWP (aerial work platform) certification.
- First aid certification.
- Experience with cast iron piping installations.
- Experience working on design-build and IPD (Integrated Project Delivery) projects.
- Experience in installing water lines and plumbing systems on institutional or specialty facilities.

Work Environment
Work takes place on a variety of commercial and institutional construction sites, including an industrial facility in Aldergrove, a fire hall in Abbotsford, a heritage church renovation in Langley, and a fire hall in Langley. The projects involve active construction environments with a mix of new builds and renovations, including mechanical rooms and specialized facilities. You will work with plumbing, hydronic, and mechanical systems, including modern heating and cooling technologies in design-build settings. The standard schedule is Monday to Friday on a first shift from 7:00 . to 3:30 ., totaling five 8-hour days per week. The role involves working both indoors and outdoors, navigating active job sites, and using standard construction tools and equipment in accordance with safety requirements.
