Terus Construction, a division of Colas Western Canada Inc., is seeking a Project Coordinator to join our team in Revelstoke, BC.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, with input from the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the successful delivery of paving and construction projects throughout the Columbia Shuswap region. Communication is central to this position, and Project Coordinators are expected to interact professionally with clients, owner representatives and/or consultants, subcontractors, Project Managers, field staff, and Superintendents. This role supports the entire project life cycle, including safety, project planning, cost tracking, document management, and field coordination. PCs bring together people, processes, resources and data so that every project can be executed efficiently, collaboratively, and to the highest standard.

This is a field‑focused role (50% field / 50% office), ideal for candidates who enjoy being on‑site, solving real‑time challenges, and working closely with operational teams. During the construction season (May to November), candidates should expect extended hours, and occasional weekend work as needed to support project demands.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for project file set up and activity cost coding, preparation and distribution of job packages to facilitate field operations, maintain safety and other project documentation in file.
  • Monitor sub-contractors for compliance, including review and enforcement of Sub-Contractor Checklist (current utility locates, proper PPE etc.) and report any violations to the Manager.
  • Responsible for supporting and leading all aspects of the company safety program and regulations. This includes completing formal safety inspections and reports as required.
  • Ensure sub-contractor is performing their scope of work to design standards and specifications.
  • Maintain up to date utility locates to ensure site is ready for company personnel (ensure Subs have their own).
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications, and budget.
  • Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates.
  • Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules.
  • Ensure job information is captured in appropriate software programs.
  • Develop and implement quality control programs.
  • Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients.
  • Acts as a company representative at site meetings and as a point of contact for field level questions regarding a project.
  • Responsible for collection and confirmation of field quantities for month end progress submissions.
  • Collect and record valuable information regarding the execution of a project and issues during construction.
  • Responsible for weekly collection of project costing updates.
  • Project estimating responsibilities as required including maintaining tendered and negotiated changes.
  • Maintain an accurate project budget with regard to Change orders.
  • Maintain up to date short term work schedules of the active projects he/she is involved in.
  • Participate, accept and adopt the principles described in the company safety program.
  • Perform duties safely around mobile equipment and have a high sense of safety awareness while performing work.
  • Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.
  • Other duties as required.

Experience and Knowledge Required for the Role

  • Ability to understand construction drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of construction equipment, materials, and processes.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, estimating software including Heavy Job and Heavy Bid.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to function effectively in a team environment and a willingness to take direction from senior project and operational personnel.
  • Ensures personal compliance with company policies and helps guide others toward consistent adherence.
  • Valid BC driver’s license and willingness to operate a company-owned light-duty vehicle during work hours as required.

Working Conditions

  • Travel is expected, estimated 10% of the time
  • Willing to work in field and in all weather conditions
  • Willing to work overtime (may include weekends) during the busy season (April to October) and on call as necessary
  • This is a safety sensitive position; selected candidate must pass drug and alcohol testing as required

The anticipated salary range for this position is $66,000 to $81,000 CAD, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus. The final compensation package will be determined based on factors including the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
