Title Quality Care Coordinator
Salary $76,530 – $95,662 – $105,229 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract Permanent
Hours 37.5 hours (Mon‑Fri) 8:30am‑4:30pm
Location Port Hardy or Campbell River, BC, located on the ancestral territories of the Kwakiutl, Quatsino and Gwa'sala‑'Nakwaxda'xw Nations – Onsite – Travel across the Vancouver Island Region is required.
About The Role The Quality Care Coordinator supports First Nations people and communities by providing culturally safe, relational guidance to navigate care concerns, gathering and elevating their stories across all health systems to improve quality care in ways that strengthen the whole health journey of individuals, families, and communities, while practicing self‑care, honoring distinctions among First Nations on Vancouver Island, and voicing concerns respectfully and thoughtfully.
About You To be successful in this role you will have, be‑ ??

Education & Occupational Certification University degree in social sciences, health, or a related profession or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience Recent, relevant, and significant experience, working with First Nations organizations, communities, multifaceted health or social/human services organizations, usually acquired over a period of 5 to 7 years, ideally in the Vancouver Island Region.
Ability to support First Nations patients and families in a culturally safe, humble, and compassionate way, with strong communication skills and the ability to address cultural or quality concerns with empathy and responsiveness.
Knowledge of health systems and advocacy pathways to support navigation and culturally safe care for First Nations.
Ability to collaborate with regional partners and multidisciplinary teams to improve care experiences and advance cultural safety.
Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to communicate concerns thoughtfully and respectfully while building trusted relationships with First Nations communities.
Education & Occupational Certification, Experience (CONSIDERED AN ASSET) Training in patient safety investigation methods and quality improvement.
Cultural safety training or trauma‑informed care training.

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full‑time equivalent hours. Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements. The top 10% of the pay range is for incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
