Position Summary
The major responsibilities of this position will be focused on the ongoing recruitment of adoption resources for harder to place children and youth. The children may be at different levels of adoption preparedness, may have had different levels of prior recruitment, and may have been waiting for adoption for varying lengths of time. The Recruiter’s role is limited to the components of the child focused recruitment model and does NOT include conducting SAFE Home Studies or serving as the primary caseworker for the child. The WWK Recruiter must be committed to making adoption work for all children on their caseload.
Qualifications
- M.S.W. or B.S.W. or equivalent as recognized by the Ontario Association of Professional Social Workers.
- 1+ year Adoption experience or 2+ years’ child welfare experience.
- A Valid G class driver’s license with access to a vehicle required.
Additional Information
Candidates must undergo and successfully pass a background check before an offer of employment may be made. Proof of education is required.
Driving is a requirement of this position. Successful applicants must have a valid G class driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle. Third-party liability insurance of a minimum of $2 million must be maintained.
Travel is required.
This position is to cover a leave of absence. Durham Children’s Aid Society does not utilize Artificial Intelligence for the screening and selection of candidates.
