Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Prince Rupert Terminal is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Operator to join our team. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor within the Liquids, Transportation and Fractionation Asset Team, this position plays a critical role in the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a multi-modal facility that integrates rail, marine, and terminal operations.

Located on British Columbia’s north coast, the Prince Rupert Terminal is a key component of Pembina’s value chain, supporting the fractionation, storage, and export of natural gas liquids (NGL) products to domestic and international markets. Operating in a remote and dynamic coastal environment, the site requires operators who are adaptable, collaborative, and solutions-oriented.

This role is part of a unionized workforce represented by Unifor Local 114.

Continuous improvement is a core part of how work is performed at Prince Rupert. Employees are actively encouraged to identify operational challenges and contribute to innovative solutions that enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency. Operators play a direct role in these efforts, participating in initiatives that improve both site infrastructure and day-to-day operations.

This role provides the opportunity to gain exposure to both rail and marine operations, while working as part of a collaborative team that values safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

Rail and Terminal Operations

    • Safely manage inbound and outbound rail traffic and coordinate rail movements within the terminal;
    • Compile data and maintain an accurate yard list identifying all inbound and outbound railcars;
    • Connect and disconnect railcars to/from facility systems and coordinate with the Control Room Operator for product transfer activities; and
    • Conduct pre- and post-loading inspections and prepare railcars for release into the railyard.

Marine Support

    • Assist with ship loading operations, including prefill of ship loading infrastructure;
    • Support mooring and unmooring of LPG vessels and the connection and disconnection of the marine loading arm;
    • Conduct loading checks at regular intervals during loading operations; and
    • Escort vessel crew members on and off site in accordance with marine and facility security protocols.

Facility Operations and Maintenance

    • Conduct routine facility rounds, monitoring equipment and ensuring operational integrity;
    • Prepare equipment for maintenance, implement lockouts, ensure zero energy; and
    • Learn and apply facility process flow diagrams (P&IDs) and control narratives to daily operations.

Safety, Compliance, and Continuous Improvement

    • Adhere to all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including SSER standards;
    • Participate in safety meetings, hazard identification, near-miss reporting, and incident investigations;
    • Take part in emergency response exercises and maintain operational readiness; and
    • Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, efficiency, and team effectiveness.

Team & Work Environment

    • Work effectively within a team environment that values inclusion, respect, and collaboration;
    • Communicate clearly with internal teams and external stakeholders; and
    • Work a rotational shift schedule in a remote operational environment;

Qualifications:

    • Strong safety mindset with a demonstrated commitment to safe work practices;
    • Positive attitude with a focus on teamwork, collaboration, and contributing to a respectful work environment;
    • Demonstrated strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn in a hands-on, operational environment;
    • Ability to follow procedures, take direction, and develop technical skills through training and on-the-job experience;
    • Ability to analyze information, exercise sound judgment, and make effective operational decisions as skills develop;
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written;
    • High level of attentiveness, situational awareness, and engagement in daily operations;
    • Demonstrated interest in continuous improvement and problem-solving;
    • Previous experience in railyard, marine, and/or facility operations is considered an asset, but is not required;
    • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License; and
    • This position requires working a rotational shift schedule to support 24/7 operations.

Pay Transparency Requirement: The base salary range for this position is $90,250.00 CAD to $95,000.00 CAD. Actual total compensation may differ based on candidate's qualifications and location.

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.

This position will be posted until end of day: 06/15/2026
