Health and Safety Advisor


Role Summary

The Health & Safety Advisor leads the implementation and continuous improvement of Cadillac Mines’ (formerly Gold Candle Ltd.) Health and Safety Management System across exploration activities in Ontario and Quebec. Working closely with employees, contractors and leadership, the role helps ensure safe, compliant and efficient operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain the company Health & Safety Management System (HSMS).
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and safety observations to identify hazards and support risk mitigation.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable health and safety legislation, company policies and industry best practices.
  • Support exploration teams and contractors in maintaining safe work practices.
  • Deliver orientations, training, toolbox talks and safety awareness initiatives.
  • Promote a positive safety culture through coaching, mentoring and field engagement.
  • Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
  • Maintain safety records, reports, statistics and performance metrics.
  • Support contractor prequalification, onboarding and ongoing H&S performance reviews.
  • Analyze safety data and trends to support continuous improvement.
  • Assist with emergency preparedness and response planning.
  • Travel regularly to project sites in Ontario and Quebec.


Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health or a related discipline.
  • CRSP, NCSO, CHSC or similar designation is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of health and safety experience; mining or mineral exploration experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario and Quebec health and safety legislation.
  • Experience supporting remote field operations and contractor-based environments.
  • Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel regularly.
  • Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital safety management systems; Site Docs experience is an asset.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.


Location & Schedule

  • Virginiatown, ON | 4/3 or 5/2 schedule with regular travel to project sites.

Sommaire du poste

Le conseiller ou la conseillère en santé et sécurité est responsable de la mise en œuvre et de l’amélioration continue du Système de gestion de la santé et de la sécurité de Cadillac Mines pour les activités d’exploration en Ontario et au Québec. Le poste collabore étroitement avec les employés, les entrepreneurs et la direction afin d’assurer des opérations sécuritaires et conformes.


Principales responsabilités

  • Mettre en œuvre et maintenir le système de gestion de la santé et de la sécurité (SGSS).
  • Effectuer des inspections, audits et observations de sécurité afin d’identifier les risques et de soutenir leur atténuation.
  • Assurer la conformité avec la législation applicable, les politiques de l’entreprise et les meilleures pratiques de l’industrie.
  • Soutenir les équipes d’exploration et les entrepreneurs dans l’application des procédures de travail sécuritaire.
  • Offrir des formations, orientations, causeries de sécurité et activités de sensibilisation.
  • Promouvoir une culture de sécurité positive par le coaching, le mentorat et la présence sur le terrain.
  • Diriger ou soutenir les enquêtes d’incident, les analyses des causes fondamentales et le suivi des mesures correctives.
  • Maintenir les dossiers, rapports, statistiques et indicateurs de performance en SST.
  • Soutenir la préqualification, l’intégration et l’évaluation continue des entrepreneurs.
  • Analyser les données de sécurité afin de soutenir l’amélioration continue.
  • Participer à la préparation et à la planification des mesures d’urgence.
  • Se déplacer régulièrement sur les sites en Ontario et au Québec.


Exigences

  • Formation postsecondaire en santé et sécurité au travail, santé environnementale ou domaine connexe.
  • Une désignation CRSP, NCSO, CHSC ou équivalente constitue un atout.
  • Minimum de cinq ans d’expérience en santé et sécurité; une expérience dans le secteur minier ou de l’exploration est privilégiée.
  • Bonne connaissance de la législation en santé et sécurité de l’Ontario et du Québec.
  • Expérience auprès d’opérations de terrain éloignées et d’entrepreneurs.
  • Permis de conduire valide et capacité à se déplacer régulièrement.
  • Excellentes aptitudes en communication, organisation et résolution de problèmes.
  • Maîtrise de Microsoft Office et des systèmes numériques de gestion de la sécurité; une expérience avec SiteDocs constitue un atout.
  • Le bilinguisme français-anglais constitue un atout.


Lieu et horaire

  • Virginiatown (Ontario) | Horaire 4/3 ou 5/2 avec déplacements réguliers sur les sites.

  • Échelle salariale de base : 80 000 $ à 120 000 $ CA (la rémunération individuelle sera établie en fonction des compétences, de l’expérience et des qualifications du ou de la candidat·e)
