Job description
Shape future carpenters as a part-time Professor at Algonquin College's General Carpentry Apprenticeship program. Deliver engaging courses and foster student success in a collaborative learning environment.

Under the direction of the Chair, you will teach carpentry courses at the Algonquin Center for Construction Excellence. This part-time role requires an active approach to curriculum design and student evaluation. Place emphasis on leveraging educational technologies and providing academic leadership within the program.

Key Responsibilities: • Design and revise carpentry courses aligning with learning outcomes • Deliver instruction in Fall, Winter, and Summer terms • Provide academic advising and tutoring to students • Engage in curriculum and departmental meetings regularly • Stay current on teaching trends to enhance learning

Requirements: • Must have 403A Red Seal General Carpenter Certificate • At least five years of experience in General Carpentry • Two years of teaching experience in a postsecondary setting • Experience in Commercial Estimating and Building Codes is an asset • Commitment to the College's values of Caring and Respect
