Job description
Explore an essential role as a Medical Laboratory Assistant at Shared Health, situated at the Gimli Johnson Memorial Hospital. Contribute to patient care through effective specimen processing and phlebotomy in a casual setup.

In this role, you will work closely with the Gimli Laboratory team under the supervision of the Charge Technologist. Your responsibilities will include assisting in triaging samples and performing basic laboratory procedures. Adherence to departmental policies and quality assurance standards is crucial for success. The position promotes compliance with health regulations and fosters a collaborative environment within the healthcare framework.

Key Responsibilities: • Participate in sample accessioning and triaging • Conduct phlebotomies according to guidelines • Maintain quality standards in laboratory work • Follow safety and protocol adherence rigorously • Ensure confidentiality in all lab operations

Requirements: • Grade 12 completion or equivalent necessary • Experience in a laboratory environment preferred • Communication proficiency in English • Knowledge in Microsoft Office and medical terminology • CSMLS certification preferred for applicants
