We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused Yard Operations Technician (Utility II) to support daily yard, inventory, and cylinder operations at our Sudbury location. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role suited for individuals with labor, yard, or industrial experience who are comfortable working outdoors year-round and who hold a valid DZ driver’s license.
The Utility II plays an important role in maintaining a safe, organized, and professional yard, supporting propane cylinder preparation, inventory control, and assisting drivers and service technicians.
This is a six (6) month contract position.
What you'll do:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard, including proper storage of tanks and assets.
Fill, paint, and prepare cylinders and tanks for customer installations.
Perform general yard, equipment, and facility maintenance.
Identify and address safety concerns immediately, reporting issues to the Field Operations Manager when required.
Manage inventory, including asset tracking, shipping and receiving, and unloading rail cars.
Assist delivery drivers and service technicians with inventory and vehicle support.
Respond to basic customer inquiries at the yard location and redirect as needed.
Complete light administrative duties such as invoicing and filing.
Perform other assigned duties to support yard and field operations.
What you bring:
1 year of experience in a labor, yard, warehouse, or industrial environment.
Valid Class 3 driver’s license is an asset.
Ability to repetitively lift up to 60 lbs.
Physically fit and comfortable working with heavy equipment and cylinders.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Previous experience in the propane, gas, or energy industry is an asset (training provided).
Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and data entry.
Strong commitment to workplace safety.
Salary: $25.96 - $32.44 hourly (based on skills, experience, qualifications, and geography).
