Join our efforts to ensure a sustainable future for our communities and the world we live in.

Join our global network of engineers, scientists, auditors, planners, and environmental specialists working together to create a better world.

By working on the development and growth of the Natural Resources & Impact Assessment business group, you will participate in a wide variety of projects within interdisciplinary teams located in Eastern Canada where GHD has over 400 employees deployed in 12 offices. Our team works for a wide range of clients located across Eastern Canada, including the mining, coastal infrastructure, and renewable energy industries.

We are currently looking for a Junior Professional to join our team in Halifax.

Responsibilities:

• Baseline Surveys: Participate in baseline surveys including groundwater and surface water sampling.

• Data Collection and Analysis: Produce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats. Manage ecological databases, analyze data, and prepare technical reports.

• Document Preparation: Organize and prepare complex documents, including environmental impact assessments, permit applications, and monitoring and management plans.

• Bid Solicitation/Request for Proposal/Tender Preparation: Gather information and resources, and draft and complete standard requests for bid solicitation requests for proposal (RFP) and requests for tender (RFT) on the requester side.

• Client & Customer Management (External): Help intermediate and senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.

• Community of Practice Management: Participate in a community of practice in a defined area of expertise or consulting to begin to build own expertise.

• Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.

• Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate.

• Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media

What you will bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor's degree in an environmental discipline (a master's degree will be an asset). A college diploma in wildlife management or a related field combined with years of experience may be considered equivalent.
  • Between 0 and 2 years of professional experience in impact assessment.
  • Good knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation.
  • Good technical writing skills.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and vehicle.
  • Availability for short-term travel.

As a diverse and inclusive organization, we encourage individual achievements and recognize the strength of a diverse workplace. GHD is an equal opportunity employer. Upon request, GHD will provide reasonable accommodations for disabled candidates throughout the recruitment and selection process.
