Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Graphic Designer / Sign Maker role based in Calgary, AB. The role involves designing graphics for signs, vehicle wraps, and other visual materials using industry-standard design software. The Graphic Designer / Sign Maker will prepare print-ready files, operate large-format printing and related production equipment, and assist with the fabrication and assembly of signs. Daily tasks include collaborating with clients and internal team members to refine concepts, ensuring brand consistency, and reviewing proofs for accuracy and quality. The role may also include on-site installation support, measuring and preparing surfaces, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace.
Qualifications
- Strong Graphic Design skills, including composition, layout, and visual problem-solving.
- Experience with Graphics and Logo Design for print and large-format applications.
- Knowledge of Branding and the ability to translate brand guidelines into cohesive sign and wrap designs.
- Solid understanding of Typography and its application in signage and environmental graphics.
- Proficiency with industry-standard design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign or similar tools).
- Experience or strong interest in sign making, large-format printing, vinyl application, and basic fabrication techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to sign production and installation (e.g., lifting materials, standing for extended periods), with reasonable accommodations as needed.
- Previous experience in signage, print, or related industries is an asset; a portfolio demonstrating relevant work is highly preferred.
