Job description

Position Title: Part‑Time Warehouse Associate

Department: Warehouse

Position Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor

Position Summary

In this position, your day will consist of operating Material Handling Equipment to move around the warehouse to prepare products for shipping and/or receiving. You will be expected to follow Health & Safety and Food Safety standards and ensure the accuracy of the orders for customer service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Material Handling Equipment, including pre‑shift and post‑shift equipment check.
  • Work in a variety of temperature zones from dry (15 degrees) to freezer (-20 degrees Celsius).
  • Follow safe and efficient work procedures to meet customer requirements, including maintaining a clean and protected environment.
  • Complete and keep up to date on all Health & Safety, Food Safety and Quality Assurance training pertinent to the role.
  • Responsible for reporting any and all concerns related to Health & Safety, safe handling and integrity of all items received, stored and distributed by Flanagan Foodservice.
  • Adherence to all Health & Safety, Food Safety and WHMIS practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Order Selector Duties

  • Lifting and loading food and other products onto pallets (up to 80 lbs).
  • Accurately selecting products using a computerized inventory system.
  • Scanning and placing labels on product and building pallet based on sequence.
  • Preparing pallets for shipping to our customers.

Loader Duties

  • Communicate information with various team members on shift and at crossover.
  • Ensure safety of trailers when in the loading dock.
  • Preparing trailers for food distribution as per Food Safety procedures. Complete all required paperwork and documentation as per standards.

Receiver Duties

  • Communicate information with various team members on shift and at crossover.
  • Ensure safety of trailers when in the loading dock.
  • Complete all required paperwork and documentation as per standards.
  • Inspect trailer for Food Safety standards as per procedures.

Reach Truck Operator Duties

  • Accurately put away products as per Food Safety Standards.
  • Accurately replenish pick locations as per Food Safety standards.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 6 months warehouse experience.
  • Experience operating material handling equipment.
  • Experience with electronic picking equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a past‑paced, physically demanding environment - lifting (from 10 to 80 lbs).
  • Good communication skills (reading and writing) and strong customer service mentality.
  • Ability to work in multiple environments including colder climates - refrigerated and freezer areas.
  • A good attitude, with the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Adherence to all Health & Safety, Food Safety and WHMIS practices.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.

Unique Requirements

  • Ability to work in multiple environments including colder climates - refrigerated and freezer areas.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding environment - lifting (from 10 to 80 lbs).
  • Adherence to all Health & Safety, Food Safety and WHMIS practices.
  • Safely operate an end rider, including pre‑shift and post‑shift equipment check.

Schedule

  • Sundays and Fridays, 4:00pm to 12:30am
