Job Summary
We are seeking a Sales Manager who will expand Supermicro’s customer base in targeted areas and maintain the quality, efficiency, and integrity of the sales process. The role requires strong marketing activities, collaboration with cross‑functional teams (Engineering, Finance, Logistics, and Programs), and a passion for generating new leads and surpassing revenue goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop strategic sales goals and execute to meet sales targets.
- Make outbound cold calls to potential customers, consistently achieve lead and appointment quotas, and overcome objections.
- Qualify opportunities and create target lists for vertical markets.
- Build relationships and communicate product and market information to potential customers in a professional manner.
- Disseminate opportunities to the OEM Sales Director with appropriate communications.
- Monitor inventory, negotiate price, enter and monitor client orders, facilitate credit issues and negotiate returns.
- Serve as backup for manager when needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years sales experience; prior experience in the tech industry is desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering is preferred.
- Deep knowledge of and experience selling server, storage, or related software solutions to customers in cloud, enterprise, or embedded markets.
- Experience dealing with C‑level executives and large data centers.
- Excellent time management, multi‑tasking, and strong analytical skills for market and industry research.
- Strong leadership ability and proficiency in managing people.
- Effective communication skills across multiple disciplines, cultures, and geographies.
Salary Range
TBD – the salary offered will depend on factors such as location, level, education, training, specific skills, and years of experience. Comprehensive benefits and potential bonus or equity award programs may also apply.
