JOBDESCRIPTION : The Senior Human Resources BusinessPartner (HRBP) acts as a strategic human resources consultant to aligncorporate objectives with the needs of employees and management in the businessdivisions in North America.
TASKSAND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Providesexpertise in labour relations and acts as a resource person for all issuesrelated to the unionized workforce, including casual workers. Works in tandemwith site managers to resolve conflicts and grievances consistently,transparently, and fairly.
Responsiblefor the interpretation and execution of contracts and related procedures (forexample, articles of collective agreements and grievance procedures). Workswith front-line managers to resolve the issues underlying grievances at thesource.
Demonstratesa comprehensive understanding of the company's operations and relatedchallenges (such as talent retention, competitive total rewards practices,employee engagement, etc.).
Acts asa coach and equips the supervisory team in the management of its teams.Creates strong relationships with front-line managers and the executiveteam by demonstrating a high level of credibility.
Reviewsand recommends compensation strategies to attract and retain employees,while ensuring internal equity and consistency in the company's compensationpractices.
Acts asa champion of organizational change and brings a positive influence inorganizational culture change initiatives.
Providesrecommendations and supports workforce management and the execution ofstrategic succession planning according to the needs of the company andits objectives. Identifies short-, medium- and long-term resource issues,as well as the plan to address them.
Buildsstrong partnerships with front-line managers, employees, and theleadership team to support improved team relationships, cross-departmentalefficiency, and helps maintain employee morale and satisfaction, therebyincreasing productivity and retention.
Responsiblefor monitoring and ensuring compliance with the various applicableprovincial laws.
Responsiblewith local managers for identifying and supporting development plans forhigh-potential or promotion-ready employees, including coordinating talentassignments/rotations in different functions and/or regions.
Collaborateswith HR colleagues in North America to identify opportunities forimprovements to the HR function and service to internal customers in theregion. Plans, presents and implements HR projects for the region.
Can beassigned to support the operations of other divisions or groups, dependingon the needs of the business.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor'sdegree in business administration or a relevant field.
Minimumof 10 to 15 years of applied experience in an HR Business Partner role,demonstrating skills in solving complex organizational problems and labourrelations.
Abilityto express oneself in French and English
Knowledgeof the Quebec Labour Standards and of other Canadian provinces (mainlyOntario and British Columbia). Knowledge of U.S. labor laws an asset.
Experiencein labour relations in the Canadian construction industry.
Stronganalytical skills with a proven ability to translate business plans andneeds into targeted HR initiatives to achieve results.
Knowledgeof several HR disciplines including diagnosis and organizationalintervention, labour relations, succession planning and employee development,performance management, total rewards, etc.
Abilityto diagnose, identify and implement appropriate solutions.
Experienceand competence in conflict management, at several levels, as well as ininternal problems related to the execution of business strategies.
WORK CONDITIONS :
Permanent position, full time
1 to 2 days of remote possible

Available to travel to Ontario occasionally and to the United States 1 to 2 times per year for short periods to visit different sites.
