Job description
FULL-TIME PERMANENT (EXCLUDED) POSITION The Workers Compensation Board (WCB)

helps to build safe and healthy workplaces in PEI and provides benefits and services to reduce the impact of work-related injuries. The Manager, Marketing and Communications is a senior level position that provides marketing and communications advice, consultation, and leadership within the Workers Compensation Board. This position leads the WCB Marketing and Communications team and is responsible for developing and implementing effective marketing and communications strategies to: Promote workplace safety, recovery and return to work. Enhance workers and employer understanding of their safety and compensation rights and responsibilities. Improve the public awareness and understanding of WCB programs and services. Create and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders. The Marketing and Communications Manager reports to the Director, Corporate and HR. Duties include, but are not limited to: Providing strategic marketing and communications advice and support for the Board of Directors, CEO and senior leaders. Collaborating with senior leaders to develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communications plans to support the effective management of policies, issues, programs and strategic initiatives that support the Board’s priorities. Providing leadership to the WCB Marketing and Communication team, including supervision, direction and support. Developing and coordinating effective media relations social marketing campaigns, advertising, corporate publications and promotional materials. Facilitating and coordinating internal communications within WCB. Coordinating the WCB’s digital communications, including social media, website and staff intranet. Liaising with WCB organizations in other jurisdictions. Other related duties as required. Qualifications: Applicants must possess a post-secondary degree in Marketing, Communications or a related discipline and considerable (3-5 years) experience working in a marketing or communications role. Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, preferably with marketing or communications teams, is required. Applicants must possess excellent oral and written communications skills, as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Experience in public sector communications would be considered an asset. The successful candidate will have advanced analytical skills and the ability to provide strategic advice. Bilingual in both French and English would be considered an asset. Demonstrated equivalencies will be considered and must be articulated in the application process.
