Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast paced technology company and a leader in the world of data centers. A DCEO Manager is one of our most senior management roles in the data center environment. In this role you will be responsible for leading an organization, managing Managers and/or Facility Managers who own data center facility infrastructure. The ideal candidate for this role will have an understanding data center IT infrastructure, data center facilities infrastructure and understand how the two coexist. If this understanding is contextual you will be served well by your experience. If you are passionate about the Customer Experience, think and act globally and want to contribute to the operational excellence of Amazon.com data centers. This position requires that the candidate selected obtain and maintain an active Reliability Status security clearance with the Government of Canada.

Un Responsable des Opérations d'Ingénierie de Centre de Données est l'un de nos rôles de gestion les plus élevés dans l'environnement des centres de données. Dans ce rôle, vous serez responsable de diriger des gérants des Responsables de Zone et/ou des Responsables d'Installation qui sont propriétaires de l'infrastructure des installations des centres de données.

Key job responsibilities

  • Hiring, managing, and developing the operations management team including compute operations managers, engineering operations managers, logistics operations managers, and security operations managers.
  • Attainment of organizational performance goals and objectives relating to safety, security, availability, scaling, and efficiency.
  • Planning and executing the Infrastructure Operations component of new AWS data center build outs, new co-location build-outs, AWS data center expansions, and co-location expansions, including server hardware install, troubleshooting and repair, security system install, troubleshooting and repair, and related Operations tasks.
  • Operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for Amazon data centers to include preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and change management.
  • Vendor management of co-location data center services providers to meet or exceed contracted performance SLA’s.
  • Safety, security, and availability incident response, incident management, and incident resolution.
  • Continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
  • 5+ years as a manager of managers.
  • 10+ years managing data center operations, facility engineering, critical environments, build-outs, or similar.
  • 5+ years delivering complex projects with proven track record.
  • 5+ years owning mission-critical teams/products; autonomous management of geographically distributed infrastructure teams; fluent in French and English (required for global/provincial Amazon interactions).
  • Diplôme universitaire (Bac+3/4) en ingénierie, informatique ou domaine connexe.
  • Plus de 5 ans comme manager de managers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering and Business Administration, or related fields.
  • 5+ years using continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
  • 5+ years as technical PM or team member on data center build-outs and startups.
  • 5+ years in IT infrastructure (compute/storage servers, networking, service delivery).
  • 4+ years in hardware/security install, troubleshooting, repair; data center mechanical/electrical/controls operations (preventive/corrective maintenance, change management).
  • Vendor management for co-location SLAs; incident response/resolution; process improvements; hiring/developing high-performing teams; SME in data center systems.
  • 5+ years excellent written/verbal communication; data-driven examples of Amazon Leadership Principles.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life & AD&D insurance), Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and other resources to improve health and well-being.
