Summary
Ontario Health is the provincial agency responsible for connecting and coordinating Ontario’s health system. It works across hospitals, primary care, home and community care, long‑term care, mental health and other sectors to advance integrated, connected and digitally enabled models of care. The Senior Vice President, Digital Health & Chief Digital Officer (SVP & CDO) is the leader of the organization’s Digital Excellence in Health portfolio, overseeing more than 1,150 staff, a multi‑hundred‑million‑dollar budget and a portfolio of more than 150 digital products and services. This executive will provide strategic and operational leadership, drive large‑scale digital modernization, enable AI, cloud transformation, and cybersecurity, and build a connected, interoperable health system throughout Ontario.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Digital Excellence in Health portfolio.
- Lead large‑scale digital modernization, enterprise architecture, interoperability, and coordinated implementation.
- Advance Ontario’s Digital First for Health strategy across primary care digital transformation, clinical information system integration, enterprise data services, cloud transformation, cybersecurity and cyber resilience, AI and automation enablement, virtualization of care, and modernization of critical provincial digital platforms.
- Collaborate with government, health‑care providers, clinicians, hospital digital leaders, vendors and executive leaders to build alignment and drive disciplined execution.
- Oversee performance, operational excellence, and measurable system impact across a decentralized, complex health‑care landscape.
Qualifications
- Accomplished senior executive with a proven track record in digital health and information technology, including large‑scale digital operations and enterprise transformation.
- Experience building strong partnerships across government, health‑care organizations, clinicians, vendors and system stakeholders.
- Deep knowledge of the evolving digital health landscape—including enterprise technology operations, cybersecurity, interoperability, cloud transformation, clinical data services, AI, automation and connected care models.
- Demonstrated ability to balance innovation with practicality, build high‑performing teams, and translate ambitious priorities into scalable, measurable solutions.
