Job Summary

As a result of accelerated growth and new large-scale infrastructure projects, Altus is looking for a new Director, Infrastructure. You will play a critical role in executing the growth strategy for infrastructure project delivery and cost consulting, leveraging your industry knowledge, contacts, and capabilities to identify, pursue and win $2 million in new business annually. You will provide business development, project management and senior advisory services directly to public and private sector clients. This senior leadership role involves guiding a multidisciplinary team, advancing business development efforts, and overseeing the successful delivery of complex projects that strengthen regional connectivity and sustainability. The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of experience in rail and transit, a demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, and a strong commitment to innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will be the highest point of contact for prospects and clients, fostering strong relationships and delivering outstanding service. You will be critical of business development, leading the pre‑bid work and delivering presentations. You will oversee the team as they provide a full range of technical, commercial, and contractual infrastructure cost consulting services to new and existing clients. You will meet with an onsite supervisor to compare drawings to progress, make assessments, and align expectations and deliverables. You will play a strategic role in building development planning.
  • You will partner with peers across other Business Units to explore opportunities for cross‑selling and up‑selling additional services. In partnership with senior leadership, you will develop and implement the marketing and synergy plans for the assigned offices.
  • You will hire and nurture a team, set expectations and deliverables, and manage day‑to‑day tasks and overall performance. You will provide leadership, coaching and motivation to build the team's knowledge and expand the expertise of services offered. You will communicate business direction to the teams and ensure alignment of individual goals with business objectives.
  • You will attend industry events and company initiatives, acting as a thought‑leader and subject matter expert, sharing information and insights wherever possible. You will implement plans in the local markets to increase revenues and profit by building client satisfaction, commitment and loyalty.

Key Qualifications

  • You have a degree or diploma in Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. You possess senior‑level expertise in infrastructure, engineering, building cost planning and monitoring and project management. You are skilled in reviewing infrastructure development plans from drawings to spreadsheets, adopting innovative or alternative project management approaches to deliver large infrastructure and progressive projects successfully.
  • You have existing senior‑level contacts in the industry, both public and private sectors. You can anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of clients, and you are driven to meet or exceed their expectations. You can innovate solutions to keep the project—and the business—moving forward. You can influence and inspire a cross‑functional team, coach and mentor junior individuals, review and guide work products, and roll up your sleeves as a critical collaborator. You can plan and deliver multiple complex projects with competing priorities, on time and on budget.
  • You can read engineering drawings and quantity take‑offs. You are proficient with SharePoint and MS Office, including skills in Excel and construction cost estimating tools. You understand the general concepts of project finance and implementing progressive delivery models.
  • You can build and foster relationships with internal and client stakeholders across all levels of construction projects, gathering information and eliciting cooperation both onsite and virtually. You are an effective communicator who can clarify ambiguities and present information in a structured way that makes sense. You can relay delays and setbacks while managing expectations and retaining the client's confidence. You have excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
