Job description

The Director, Global Digital Marketing Enablement plays a critical role to senior leadership, supporting multiple high‑priority strategic programs that are shaping the future of Global Digital Marketing (GDM). This role is a strategy, discovery, and documentation lead, operating at the center of complex transformation initiatives.

The role partners closely with the Global Head of Digital Marketing to inform strategy, explore options, document clear recommendations and support implementation across key transformation programs, including but not limited to:
1. Global Digital Marketing Optimization
2. Data & Measurement Strategy – governance and enablement
3. Martech and marketing vendor assessment – evaluating future state needs and decisions to build vs. buy new capabilities

Success in this role requires the ability to rapidly understand complex topics, build a strong fact base, synthesize perspectives from diverse stakeholders, and translate vision and ambiguity into clear, compelling strategic narratives and roadmaps. This role requires a strategic thinker with consulting‑style problem‑solving skills, strong collaboration instincts, and the confidence to contribute meaningfully to ideation and decision‑making.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key strategic partner and thought collaborator to the Global Head of Digital Marketing, supporting multiple priority transformation programs.

  • Partner closely to draft options, frameworks, and recommendations for exploration and executive decision‑making.

  • Provide structured support across strategy development, discovery, documentation, and synthesis.

  • Support analysis and strategy development related to GDM future‑state optimization, including structure, scope, and goal prioritization.

  • Contribute to building and documenting a 1–3 year roadmap.

  • Integrate future state with Marketing Redesign roadmap / priorities.

  • Participate in Marketing Redesign program, helping define future‑state ways of working for Global Digital Marketing.

  • Help articulate trade‑offs and implications of different operating model scenarios.

  • Document target‑state views, decision logic, and sequencing considerations.

  • Assess future state AI / technology capability requirements and assess vendor options.

  • Partner with stakeholders across the Data Office, AI teams, GDM, and offshore teams to inform data‑related strategy.

  • Help build a clear fact base that articulates the current state of data, CDP, AI, and measurement capabilities.

  • Identify organizational and capability gaps impacting personalization, analytics, and decision‑making.

  • Contribute to defining a practical plan of attack to address these gaps over time.

  • Help govern key initiatives that address gaps and support executive level reporting.

  • Translate complex ideas, concepts, and vision into clear, structured, and compelling PowerPoint materials.

  • Synthesize inputs from multiple stakeholders into concise insights and recommendations.

  • Maintain strong documentation of assumptions, decisions, and open questions to support momentum and continuity.

  • Coordinate and support regular working team meetings across programs to ensure work progresses at pace.

  • Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders across GDM, Data, and AI teams to gather inputs and validate direction.

  • Help manage interdependencies across workstreams and surface risks or gaps early.

  • Foster collaborative, productive working relationships in a highly matrixed environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong PowerPoint and storytelling skills, with experience turning strategy, vision, and ambiguity into executive‑ready materials (consulting or strategy background strongly preferred).

  • Strategic thinker who actively contributes to ideation and problem‑solving, not just execution.

  • Experience working in large, global marketing organizations, with a solid understanding of core processes for creative development and campaign delivery.

  • Analytical and data‑driven mindset, with the ability to define success measures and articulate impact.

  • Strong collaborator with confidence working across senior stakeholders and complex agendas.

  • Ability to operate with structure, discretion, and sound judgment.

  • Prior experience at Manulife is an asset.

  • Bachelors degree with 10+ years of experience

  • MBA preferred.

Why This Role Matters
This role sits at the intersection of strategy, structure, and execution, enabling Global Digital Marketing to evolve deliberately rather than reactively. It provides senior leadership with the clarity, rigor, and strategic support needed to make informed decisions and move complex initiatives forward with confidence.

  • As part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see.

  • We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.

  • We’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words.
