Unit Summary
HR Services & People Analytics team is made up of HR professionals and innovators who contribute to the achievement of Hamilton Health Sciences’ (HHS) operational and strategic priorities. HR Services & People Analytics is organized by streams (HR Payroll, HR Reporting, HR Operations, Benefits, HR & Payroll Solutions and the Corporate Scheduling Office) to provide a wide range of services and programs for the HHS community. The HR Services & People Analytics model and overall vision emphasizes a client focus, collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement. This portfolio provides leadership, strategy and all operational programs and functions related to the workforce at Hamilton Health Sciences.
Position Summary
The HR Services & People Analytics Assistant provides confidential, professional, administrative support to the Director, HR Services & People Analytics and the HR Services & People Analytics team ensuring the daily operations of the teams occur efficiently and effectively. Solutions-focused with the ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities with a positive attitude, initiative, and using judgment in developing, adapting and applying processes to address problem situations with great attention to detail.
The Assistant performs a full range of administrative and transactional HR duties, which require an understanding of HR systems, internal policies and procedures, Collective Agreements, and relevant legislation.
Schedule Work Hours
Days, Monday to Friday with willingness to be flexible with working hours to suit operational requirements. 37.5 hours per week. This position is eligible for a hybrid remote work arrangement, in accordance with HHS’ Remote Work Policy.
This position is temporary until May 2027.
Qualifications
- 1 year Human Resources experience.
- 1 year HRIS (PeopleSoft, Oracle, and Taleo experience and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) experience.
- 1 year data entry/management experience.
- 1 year experience in a client/customer facing role.
- 1-2 years office administration experience.
- Undergraduate Degree (Business, Finance, Human Resources, or other relevant).
- Demonstrated interest in Human Resources as a career path.
- Knowledge of HR operations activities (payroll, defined benefit pensions, benefits, and compensation) employee life cycle transactional processes (onboarding, recruitment, leaves of absence, separation, etc.). Knowledge of Collective Agreements and HHS policies.
- Strong technical skills using HRIS, Taleo, and Microsoft Office (specifically Excel).
- Exceptional ability to prioritize, multi-task, schedule and carry out tasks with excellent attention to detail, organization and time management skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a high performance environment.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Ability to handle stressful issues and communicate with a variety of people and situations in a courteous, professional manner.
- Ability to work with tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
